“Umm..we…this..”

She was struggling to form a sentence and I had to tease her.

“We…what”

I said dragging out the words tongue in cheek

She snapped her head to look at me with fire in her eyes and all I wanted to do was kiss her again. Yeah, there was no way we would be able to talk tonight.

Chapter 13

Samaira

Yeah, this wasn’t gonna work if Sugarcup didn’t let me speak. Clearing my throat I continued, “As I was saying, we should talk about how we are going to pull this off and what we will tell our families.”

“Why don’t we sit in the cafe here, drink our coffees that I got us, and discuss our game plan?”

“You got us, me, coffee.Mycoffee oryourcoffee?”

My face turned disgusted as I said your coffee, his coffee was just bad, just bad. My coffee might be a cup full of diabetes but it tasted fantastic!

He walked back to the counter and got the coffee cups back to where I was standing. I was stunned when he pulled out the Sunflowers. HE GOT ME SUNFLOWERS!

“Coffee and…sunflowers”

I stood there stunned because he got memy favorite flowers. No one apart from my parents and best friends had gotten me flowers. My ex got me every flower butsunflower. I had told him countless times that sunflowers were my favourite. It wasn't that I had to teach him how to love me. That was okay. We were figuring it out. It was that, that even after telling him countless times, he didn't make an effort. I needed someone to love me, the way I deserved. Not half hearted gestures. Not the bare minimum gestures disguised as princess treatment. I didn't even have to tell Kartik. He just did. Just because. He had no idea how much that meant to me. Oh boy, it was going to be difficult to not to fall in love with him.

He kept the coffee cups back on the counter.

“Please don’t cry”

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at him, he looked as if he would cry if I started crying. I couldn’t help but give out a shaky laugh. At that, he almost looked relieved, and he held out the flowers.

“You got me flowers?” I said taking them “No one’s ever gotten me flowers other than my friends, and that too my favourite on the first try.”

“Well I may have stalked you and saw on your profile you like them.”

He said with his hands in his pockets, looking like a teenage boy asking out his crush. He was blushing! Who knew that the man who could kiss me senseless, leave me feeling butterflies in my stomach just a couple of minutes ago, could be this shy right now? It was adorable.

“Thank you.” I whispered.

He gave me a soft smile.

We both sat in the cafe which was connected to the bookstore and got to talking. I pulled out some index cardsand three different colored pens. People freaked out when they saw me being organized but he looked at me as if it was normal to take out index cards and different colored pens.

“So, we write out our favorite things, personal details that our partner, in this case, either of us should know about each other and family stuff. Here are some index cards for you and you write in blue, I’ll write in black. Okay?” I said.

“Alright,” he said, taking the stationery “What is the red pen for?” he asked.

“That’s for planning out our meet cute and stuff like our ‘dating’ history”

“What the hell is a meet-cute?” he looked so confused

I groaned I didn’t have time to explain what a meet-cute was.

“Meet-Cute is a story of how two people meet”

He still looked confused.
