Fear bursts through my heart and I dart forward, darting to the wide bed to our right.

“Don't worry, I didn't touch it. But I have to say, I'm pretty jealous, sweetheart. You've got so much of Everest in there that it's like Maddock and I aren't even your matches.”

Relief sweeps through me as I see nothing in my nest has moved. Everything is exactly where I left it, down to the folded arms of Everest's jacket that I use as a pillow.

“How did you get in here?” I ask, finally running my eyes over him.

An omega inviting an alpha into their nest is the ultimate sign of trust. Even though my feelings for Jaxx have bloomed so quickly they stole my breath away, I won’t forgive him if I scent him anywhere on the bed.

He wears a white hotel robe, undone and spread over his thighs, with nothing underneath. He grins as soon as my eyes bounce over him, refusing to look where I’m sure he wants my gaze the most.

“Who knows?” he says, glancing at Maddock as he steps into the room, the door clicking closed behind him. “Maybe someone let me fondle her ass after a race and I pinched her spare key.”

“I don't carry the spare key with me,” I say flatly, and he just shrugs.

“Another one of life's great mysteries.” He sighs like it’s a struggle. “Well, really? I came to wait for my pack, but you obviously got caught up, judging by your scents, so I did some light reading.” He waves one of the tabloid magazines my manager had handed me so I can do damage control if any paparazzi get too frisky.

But the title is there in big bold letters. ‘Harmony Grace’s New Targets!’

There’s a photo of Maddock and I against his car, and right next to another of Jaxx and me dancing in the club.

“I’m kind of disappointed really. They just focus on Maddock. But hey, at least they got a good shot of my ass.” He grins as he hops to his feet, plopping the magazine on the chair before drifting over to us. Maddock tenses up, reaching for my hand, and I let him take it. I don’t want him going for Jaxx, and I need the comfort as well.

It doesn’t matter how much I want him, Jaxx is practically invading my nest.

Jaxx’s gaze dances over mine and Maddock’s necks and he stiffens. His eyes widen, but he catches himself before he shows his real feelings.

“It looks like you two made up. Did you finally get over yourself?” he asks, arching a brow at Maddock.

I glance at my nest again. Most omega's nests are in a whole room or a specific space, but I have to deal with a makeshift setup because I’m usually on the move.

Rather than a fixed location, every bed I sleep in becomes my nest, no matter where in the world I am. I have a bag that keeps every piece I need, and no one is allowed to touch it.

Until I met Jaxx and Everest, it used to contain pillows, a throw, a small clock, and the earrings Maddock had noticedbefore. That, along with a shirt with Maddock's team number and the t-shirt he wore on our first date. Those are the things I want Maddock to see, but since that first morning with Everest, I’ve started hoarding his jackets, arranging them in a U shape in the bed so they protect me from either side as I sleep.

“I see what you mean,” Maddock says. “When did you have time to collect all these jackets?”

“Er… Well…” I avoid his gaze. Everest's jackets have become some of my most prized possessions, but it’s more because they remind me of the peaceful times we have together. His scent helps me sleep at night, and when I can’t sleep, I’ll go and find him. It was the same when Maddock and I dated and everything in my nest smelled of leather and firewood. Having their clothes and gifts makes it feel like home. And that’s why I want to dive in right away. I can tell him about my meetings with Everest after that.

“Let her have some secrets, Maddock,” Jaxx laughs.

“Which means you know how?” he asks.

“It means I can make a calculated guess. And you might be able to work it out if you weren't puffing up like a grumpy cat ready to attack me.” Jaxx grins at him and I try not to roll my eyes at the pair of them.

Jaxx on my right, Maddock on my left, both of them standing there, just looking at my nest like it’s a piece in an art gallery instead of the precious space that is calling me to lie down.

My chest has been tight since my omega senses started humming, telling me to get back to my nest. And now that Jaxx and Maddock are here, it’s even more important that I’m on the bed.

Jaxx turns to me, running his hand along my collarbone to cup my neck asking me to turn and look at him.

“Will you invite us into your nest?” he says with that boyish smile that always drives me crazy. He leans down, kissing mesoftly without a second thought. My head tilts back so he can deepen the kiss and sweep me away.

I’m already so high on Maddock's bite that Jaxx's pheromones are like wind blowing against a leaf. A sigh goes through us both as we connect again. I become lost in him again as his other hand draws a line down my chest to cup my breast.

A moan echoes from me as he brushes my nipple through my t-shirt and I bend my hips towards him.

“Do you want something more than just my thumb?” he hums, his bright blue eyes shining.
