Jaxx’s arms fall away as he shows me the trophy, and I feel like a proud mama hen congratulating them both.

“Are you okay?” I murmur to Maddock, who’s still clinging to me, his face buried in my shoulder.

“I’m not sure if I can move. I don’t really believe this is real.”

“But it is, you won. You did it, Maddock.”

“I’m not talking about that,” he says as he squeezes me, and my heart aches because I realize what he means.

Reaching my arms up to his shoulders, I pull him closer. I’m going to have to say something publicly at some point, but this moment is for us right now, for the three of us.

I want so badly for Everest to be here, because it really feels like we need to be together, but Jaxx gently grips Maddock’s forearm.

“Come on, you’re dripping with champagne, and you’re taking up all the attention. I want some hugs and love too,” he complains.

I grin at him over Maddock’s shoulder, before Maddock pulls back, meeting me with a look that tells me we are going to needto talk. We can’t put it off any longer, and nerves jump through me.

Jaxx takes his chance, sneaking in close, nudging me with his nose. “I’ve decided what I want for my favor,” he purrs, and a shiver of desire goes through me.

“Don’t tell me it’s something naughty?” I ask him as my hand strokes down Maddock’s arm to take his hand.

“No, it’s more like a kindness. I mean, what’s going to happen if I build up all these favors and it suddenly becomes one-sided.”

“What makes you think you’re going to have lots of favors?”

“Well, I’m not going to be the type of alpha who lets his omega win just because he loves her.”

A low growl rumbles from Maddock as I blush, and Jaxx laughs as he throws an arm around his shoulder and hugs him again.

“What? Too soon?” He throws me a wink. “I’m just getting started. I don't want to miss the chance for another favor.”

“I could say the same,” I growl gently, liking the idea of a challenge. I still have my plan to make Jaxx get on his knees for me, though, from the way he’s spreading his pheromones, he’ll tease me rather than apologize.

“Then it’s up to you to decide the challenges. I’m pretty sure I can live up to all your expectations.”

Maddock nudges him with his shoulder, glaring at him. “Betting is our thing. You’re not taking it away from us.”

“Well, betting can be a pack thing, can’t it?” Jaxx says, looking at me with a gleam in his eye.

I’m not going to confirm or deny what he said, but nothing’s going to happen if Maddock and I don’t resolve things.

Gently reaching up, I cup Jaxx’s neck, and he instantly leans his weight into me.

“I’ll come and ask you about your favor later, okay? Maddock and I need to talk.”

Jaxx grins, holding up his trophy. “Okay, but you gotta remember you’re leaving the winner of the Silverstone Grand Prix all by his lonesome. It’s going to be sooo hard just sitting here by myself, all alone, waiting for my omega. What am I going to do for so long?”

“I’m sure you’ll manage,” Maddock says flatly, which just makes him laugh again.

“Do you want to go back to your room and get washed up?” I ask him, and he nods.

“Jacob will probably get annoyed that we just ran off,” he says.

“Well, he can deal with it. He’s going to get a break once all the Championship excitement has died down, so a little more stress won’t upset him too much.”

Plus, my brother loves having a go at people. With Jaxx's antics as Maddock got stuck in P6, there’s plenty to complain about. Us disappearing will give Jacob another excuse to moan at us. And I’ll probably get the blame for it. But, it doesn’t matter when Maddock and I need to clear the air between us.

“Don’t keep me waiting too long, sweetheart,” Jaxx hums, notching his finger under my chin, making me look up at him and stealing my attention. “I'll go and annoy Everest until you’re finished. So, really, the quicker you talk, the more torture you save Everest from. Just think about that!”
