It’s midday when Darius and I finish the dress alterations of everyone on Tory’s side of the bridal party. We all head to the cliffside restaurant to grab a bite to eat, with me forced to walk behind the group while the girls drown Darius and Zac in squealing fangirl conversation.

“I love that Halloween episode where you pranked Verena by using onions to make candy apples,” Stacy says to Darius, which doesn’t surprise me at all that she enjoyed my suffering. “The look on her face when she bit into that onion was priceless.”

For someone who doesn’t like me, Stacy sure seems to know a lot about my life.

“Oh!” Tory grasps Zac’s arm. “Remember that episode where the three of you learned viral TikTok dances?”

“Yes!” Nia jumps up and down. “That episode is my favorite. Youhaveto do those dances for us again, Darius, please. Zac, too.”

“Maybe another time.” Darius drapes an arm over my shoulder, pulling me forward so I’m not the loser hanging out at the back.

“Thanks,” I whisper as we arrive at the restaurant.

“All right, I’m out of here,” Zac says to the two of us. “I need to find Penny and make this right.”

“You sure?” Darius asks.

“Yeah. Plus, I don’t think I can handle a minute more of…that.” He nods to the bridesmaids.

“Call us if you need anything,” I tell him.

Tory enters the conversation with a frown. “Zac, you’re not joining us for lunch?”

My sister and the bridesmaids smother him in goodbye hugs. His eyes widen, sending me a help signal to pull the girls off him. I sit tight and smile back at him.Hate you, he mouths in return.

“Oh no.” Nia cringes when Zac stalks off. “Did we come on too strong?”

Darius waves a dismissive hand. “That’s just Zac. He’s constantly in a bad mood.”

My sister leads us through the lunchtime crowd for the bar, speaking over the clutter of voices. “We should order drinks first. What do you all want?”

“Sex on the Beach.” Darius undresses me with his eyes. He pulls out his phone and takes a photo of the two of us while kissing my cheek.

“Adrian’s watching?” I mutter.

“He sure is.” Darius speaks louder, assuring Adrian hears. “You want a Quick Fuck?”

“I suppose you didn’t hear,” Stacy says as we step up to the bar, “but Verena is banned from alcohol for the rest of this week. Tory’s orders.”

My gaze whips to my sister, demanding she explain herself immediately.

“I didn’t say it like that,” Tory says. “I asked Stacy to keep an eye on you after the first night here when you got upset on the beach.”

“Adrian!” Stacy’s face lights up as she peers behind me. Her gaze shifts between Darius and me like she’s waiting for a volcanic eruption now that Adrian has joined us.

I face Adrian, gulping down my nervous jitters when I find him grinning. His mood is a surprise. After the tense way we left things this morning at our bungalow, he’s now standing here smiling at me?

“Did you see Isabelle this morning?” I test him.

“For a little bit.”

Right. Sure.

Adrian sits at a bar stool and slips an arm around my waist, drawing me flush against his body. My breasts are pressed to his firm pecs and our lips are only inches apart. Oh, I like this. I like thissomuch.

“What are you doing?” I whisper.

His lips brush over my ear, his hot breath sending thrills between my thighs. “You’re still my fake girlfriend, aren’t you?”
