Guests continue partying in the restaurant well after we’ve farewelled Tory and Phoebe and sent them to the resort’s honeymoon suite, but all Adrian and I have to do is look at each other to know the wedding is over for us and we can finally be alone.

As soon as we step into our bungalow, everything falls silent between us. Our eyes linger on each other and we both ease into knowing grins.

“That dress looks really good on you,” Adrian says with a husky voice.

“You better not ruin this one by throwing me in the pool.”

“No, I plan to ruin it in other ways.”

And just like that, I’m burning up inside, accompanied by a longing ache at the peak of my thighs.

Adrian steps up to me, running soft fingers over my arms as he murmurs, “Is it true what you said at the festival, that you’ve loved me your whole life?”

“Yes,” I breathe, feeling goosebumps rise over my skin at his touch.

“I can’t believe it’s taken me twenty-five years to learn that.” He scoops me into his arms, kissing me the entire way as he carries me to the bedroom—the bedroom with neat sheets once again, waiting for us to dishevel them on our last night here.

With an elbow, he flicks the lights off, and suddenly, everything feels more intense between us. It’s like the world has disappeared, leaving only me and Adrian in existence. I can hear every breath he makes and feel every muscle of his strong arms around me.

“First time we’re using this bed.” Adrian lowers me onto the mattress, hovering over me on two hands.

My legs find their place around him. Sparks of desire shoot through my body as the hard bulge in his trousers rocks against my crotch.

“I’m in no rush to fall asleep, Vee. I plan on enjoying you for the entire night.”

Nothing can deter us. No secrets. No visitors knocking on the door. It’s him and me and a whole night ahead of us.

Adrian removes my heels, adorning my legs with kisses as his lips travel up my thighs, sending my breath faster. I fist the bedsheets as his mouth teases between my legs, brushing over my underwear but never giving me what I’m aching for.

My fingers race to the buttons of his shirt, hurrying to undo them. I push the fabric down his shoulders, gulping back desire as the moonlight traces the contours of his firm torso. Adrian’s muscles are glorious above me, flexing with every movement, making me frantic to feel him inside me.

“I need to get this dress off you,” he rasps, pulling me onto his lap.

My legs fall to either side of him in a straddle. I rub up against his dick, working a desperate groan out of him while his hands fumble at the back of my dress to undo my zipper.

“The hook and eye is stuck,” he says, making me laugh.

“How do you know what a hook and eye is?”

“You’ve mentioned it on your show.”

Before I have a chance to say anything else, he rips the dress off me in one clean motion and tosses it to the ground. It’s a good thing I wasn’t fond of that design.

“You know,” I giggle, “I could have turned around for you to get a better understanding of the hook and eye.”

“Too slow.” He unlatches my bra and slides my panties down. A deep growling sound escapes his throat at the sight of my naked body. “Verena…” His voice comes out in a guttural tone. “Let me get a condom.”

I grab his wrist before he can climb off the bed. “Have you been tested?”

“Yes, I’m clean.”

“No condom, then. I’m on the pill. I got tested after the cheating scandal and haven’t been with anyone since.”

His eyes turn sinister with need, as if he loves what I’m suggesting. “Are you sure you don’t want to use one?”

My lips brush along his jaw, up to his ear. A shiver ripples through him at the sensation of my hot breath on his skin. “You coming inside me without a condom has always been one of myfantasies,” I whisper. “I’m desperate for you to mark me as your own.”

With a hiss, he has me on my back and is unbuckling his trousers. “Vee, you’re going to regret saying that. I won’t last a second inside you now.”
