Epilogue

Six Months Later

Brady

Brady’s pulse raced as he pulled a black yoga mat out of the passenger side of his Mercedes. He’d never needed a mat before, so he’d purchased it a few days ago and had spent time with Anna—Rex’s woman—to help decorate the mat for this class. He hoped things went off as planned.

He enlisted Kerri, one of Jane’s employees at her studio,Serenity Now, to help with his plan. Today was the day. He was certain of his decision, sure of what he wanted, yet his nerves churned his stomach anyway. What if she was upset he interrupted her class time? Or, God forbid, she said no?

She wouldn’t say no. He knew this in his heart. But his head still whispered that old refrain:You don’t deserve her. He’d been working on it. He’d started seeing a therapist once a week, finally facing the insecurities and old wounds from his childhood. He didn’t want to bring that baggage into the life he was building with Jane. She deserved more. And he was trying to be the man she saw when she looked at him.

He walked toward the studio and pulled open the door. This was it. He rubbed the back of his neck and blew out a breath.

Kerri stood behind the counter with an enormous smile on her face. That assisted his confidence. He couldn’t help but grin back at her.

“Hey, Brady.” She stepped from behind the counter. “All of the clients are aware. They made space for you right up front so she can read the message easier.”

“Thank you so much for your help on this.” His mouth was dry and his muscles twitched with his nerves but he’d power through. He couldn’t wait another day to make her his fiancée and as soon as possible his wife. Fuck, he loved the sound of that.

“Oh, my God, are you kidding me? This was awesome. I can’t wait to see her face.” She yipped. “I have the surveillance camera rolling in the yoga room, too, so we can capture it.”

“You’ve thought of everything.” He laughed. “I’ve been so damn nervous, I’m surprised I wore a workout outfit instead of my usual suit.”

Kerri chuckled. “Let’s do this.”

Kerri opened the yoga room door and peaked her head inside. “Hey, do you mind if I squeeze one more person in this class?”

“Is it a regular?” He heard Jane’s lilted voice and smiled.

“Ah, no he hasn’t been to a class before.”

“We are at capacity. Maybe suggest the later class today or have him sign up for this time tomorrow.”

“There’s room right up front.” One of the female students sputtered.

“He’s very desperate for this class. Said it had to be this class with you as the instructor.” Kerri giggled.

Jane went silent for a moment, then huffed out a breath. “Kerri, what is going on? Who is it?” He could hear the exasperation and confusion in her voice.

Brady slipped behind Kerri and into the room, carrying his yoga mat under his arm. “It’s me.”

Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. “Brady? What are you doing here?” She stood on the edge of her mat in light pink yoga pants and a white sports bra looking like an athletic-wear model. She was stunning.

“Taking a yoga class.” He winked at her as he strolled to the front of the room and kissed her temple. “Figured it was about time.”

The clients smiled and let out a collectiveaww.

Jane cleared her throat, cheeks tinged pink. “Everyone, this is my boyfriend, Brady.” She rested her hand on his arm. “Some of you may have heard me mention him.”
