He dropped his head against the wall behindthe couch. “Are you going to torture me?” His hips bucked at hernext stroke.
She shrugged a shoulder before leaningforward and taking his mouth. She released him and rotated her hipsover his erection. Stars twinkled in his peripheral.
“I have a meeting with Janella tomorrowmorning.” She said the words against his lips.
His eyes widened. He hadn’t expected that.“You’re telling me this now?” He grit his teeth when she rolled herhips again. This little vixen toyed with him. This was news hewanted to hear. He wanted to ask questions.
“Yes.” She rose up on her knees. “You shouldalso know I’m not wearing any panties.” She sank down on his dickbefore he could formulate another thought.
He groaned. “Holy fuck.” He gripped herhips, holding her in place. “Right the fuck there, Sunshine. I’m sodeep in you.” His eyes fluttered shut. “So damn good. God, I missedyou.”
“You sure you don’t want to talk about mymeeting?” Her eyes twinkled with humor.
He dipped his hand between them and thumbedher clit. She moaned.
“Did you want to discuss your meeting now orafterwards?” He teased. Two could play this game.
“After.” Her word came out breathless. “Ilove you, Rex.”
She looked down at him, her golden eyesmisty, her bottom lip between her teeth. Christ, he’d do anythingfor her.
“Come here.” He cupped the back of her neckand pulled her closer until their foreheads and noses met. “I loveyou so much. So damn much, Anna.”
She crushed her mouth to his and rode himuntil they were both spent.
Chapter Nineteen
“Thank you, Janella,” Anna said, staring atthe raven-haired woman on her screen. The conversation had beenover an hour but also a success. Wesley Marketing needed anothercreative on its team and Anna fit the bill.
“We are happy to have you on board, Anna.”Janella smiled. “You will make a great addition to our team. Sandrawill touch base with you this afternoon on all the HR issues, paperwork, start date, and next steps.”
They disconnected the call and Anna fellback into her desk chair with a sigh. A tiny squeal escaped, andshe clapped her hands. It would be a transition going from amarketing department within a company to a marketing firm. She’dlikely need to put in more hours, at least to start. But theincrease in pay was a plus. Not having to report to Jacob was justicing on the cake.
“So, how’d it go?” Rex peered around thepartially closed door.
“Don’t act like you haven’t beeneavesdropping.” She chuckled.
“I haven’t. I swear.” He made a little crossover his heart with his pointer finger as he edged into theroom.
“I’m taking the job.” Butterflies flutteredin her belly. Just saying it out loud made everything so real. Somany things had changed in her life in the past two months. Shehadn’t even paused to think about Janella’s offer when she’d laidit out. She’d been disrespected at Sunshine and there was no comingback from it. “It’s quite a change, but a largely female agencywith women in key positions is right up my alley, especially afterthis past week. I’ll get my own accounts, but can also pair up withothers on larger projects.”
“Sounds like something you’d enjoy.” Histone was soft.
“You don’t have to be so tentative, Rex.It’s okay to be excited. In another month or two, I could be livingin Orlando closer to you.” She shimmied in her chair at just thatthought. In less than three days, she admitted her love to thisman, accepted a job with an Orlando-based marketing firm andplanned to turn her resignation in at Sunshine tomorrow. Forsomeone who hadn’t been into spontaneity, the last few days hadbeen chocked full of it.
“Is living with me too close for you?” Heinched closer until he stood in front of her desk with his hands onhis hips. His cheeks flushed. He cleared his throat.
She tilted her head and cocked a brow. “Areyou asking me to move in with you?” The idea of waking up to Rexevery morning and going to bed with him every night had appeal. Alot of appeal. They were still getting to know each other. Manywould say they were still in the “honeymoon phase” of theirrelationship. They’d barely had time for any disagreement. Was thismoving too fast?
He shrugged. “Too fast?” He tried to play itcool, but his breaths shortened and his jaw ticked.
“We’ve only known each other a couplemonths.” She clasped her hands together in front of her. “It doesseem a little swift.”
“I understand your hesitation.” He scootedbehind the desk and wheeled her chair back. Resting his hands onthe back of the chair, he hovered over her. His green eyes sparkledbut sweat beaded on his forehead.
“Well, it’s not like you’re asking me tomarry you or anything.” She teased.
He swallowed hard. “If I knew you’d say yes,I’d be on my knee right now.” He leaned forward and pressed hislips to hers.
