Not for long.

“Come on upstairs,” she said. Her hold on his fingers tightened as she tugged him towards the stairwell. “I want to show you something. Hopefully it’ll help in clearing up where my head is at and what I think we can do. I don’t want this to be the thing that wears on our relationship.”

She was halfway up the staircase when she realized that he wasn’t following her. He stood at the landing, looking down at the floorboards as if he was staring at something that haunted him. “Can’t we just talk down here in the great room?”

“I really need to show you something,” she said with a smile. “And I packed some more clothes for you so you can take them back to your parents’ house. I promise we’ll be quick.”

He hesitated once more, and Tina wondered how she was going to put her plan into action if she couldn’t even get Logan up the stairs.

He let out a deep sigh, then begrudgingly followed her. “I do need a few of my suits.”

A thrill coursed through her body, and she had to bite back the shiver as she led him to the primary suite. When they stepped inside, the candles seemed to burn brighter and the sheets almost shimmered as if reflecting her anticipation.

“W-what’s going on?” Logan said. The fear echoed in his voice, and a twisted part of her slurped it up like a cat with milk. The anticipation was enough to have her breathy and hot.

“It’s a surprise, Logan. You loved surprises once, right? Especially the kind that I gave you.” Tina gripped his wrist andtugged him across the room to the chair she’d positioned next to the bed. With one solid push, she nudged him into the seat. Her heartbeat began to speed up, and she had to work hard at keeping her breathing even.

“Tina…”

“I know,” she said softly.

His eyes widened. She could see the alarm painted clearly on his face before he expertly masked it behind a placid smile. “Know what, sweetheart?”

“I know about Lucia.”

He jerked in the chair, his hands gripping the arms tighter. “M-my high school girlfriend? What about her?”

“Your high school girlfriend. The work colleague that came to visit New York forbusinessbefore you went out to dinner with her. The woman that you’ve been sleeping with for over a year and who also happens to live in town.”

He tried to push himself out of the chair, but Tina crowded him, and he pressed against the back cushion to increase the space between them. “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about. I wouldnevercheat on you. We’re supposed to get married, Tina. We have history. Why would I throw that all away after leaving New York and moving back here? Moving into this house?”

“Why would you?” She inspected her nails before crossing her arms over her chest. “At first, it made sense to me that you’d want to be close to your side piece. How convenient, right? But then I learned that this used to be Lucia’s house. One she shared with her husband. The same husband that you pushed down the stairs.”

All the blood seemed to drain from Logan’s face. “W-what are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about murder.”

The lights flickered, and the flames on each candlewick in the room shot straight in the air before shrinking back to size.Logan’s quick inhale of breath was accompanied by an attempt to scramble towards the front door.

Invisible straps held his wrists down, and his head jerked back as if a rope was looped around his shoulders and neck to tie him to the chair.

“W-what’s happening?” he cried. The fear was like a sweat that squeezed out of his pores. “What’s going on? Tina? Tina!”

Before she could answer, Derrick strolled into the room from the en suite bath, shirtless, with his jeans unzipped.

If Logan was shocked before, scared before, he was even more so now. “Damien,” he whispered.

“Other brother,” Derrick said with a grin. “But I’m sure you’ll meet Damien, too.”

“What’s going on here?” Logan cried out. He tugged at the ghostly restraints holding him hostage. “Why is he here? Tina. Tina!”

Derrick stepped behind Tina, brushed her long hair aside, and pressed a kiss to the crook of her neck. “He’s here,” she said with one long, heartfelt sigh. “Because you’re a coward and you have to pay the price.”

It was wrong, twisted even, to feel thrilled at the sight of Logan’s horror. At his fear. But Tina had been prepared for this. The Sutter brothers had torn out any common sense and decency from her psyche the moment Damien had invaded her dreams that first night. Her body was now attuned to their touch, their dominance in a way that thrilled her. She needed it more than she ever needed Logan.

Derrick sensed that she was ready and turned her in his arms and pressed a long, languid kiss against her mouth. She lifted her arms to wrap around his neck, and they stood there, holding each other, their tongues tangling, while Logan struggled behind them.

Tina felt Derrick’s hands stroke over her ass, then tuck in the waistband of her shorts before nudging them down. They fell in a silent whisper at her feet, a flutter of silk and lace. She didn’t wear panties underneath, and her bare ass was on display. He tugged the straps down on her camisole until that also slipped off her body, her tits popping out and brushing against his bare chest.
