“Don’t listen to her,” I told Ridge when he turned me around to face him. “She’s too caught up in her fictional heroes and….” I waved my hand in the air. The corner of Ridge’s mouth tipped up in half-smirk, half-smile like he was trying to contain his amusement. “Just ignore whatever she said,” I muttered.

“You’re so cute when you’re flustered, Cherry.”

“I’m not flustered.” I grabbed the Corona out of his hand and guzzled it. I didn’t come up for air until I’d drained the bottle.

He put his hands on my hips and drew me closer. “Are you saying you don’t want to marry me and have a bunch of Ridges and Evies running around?”

“What do you mean bya bunch?”

“The more, the merrier. I’ll settle for five.”

My eyes widened in horror. “Five kids? Are you insane?”

“I’ve always wanted a big family. Not like we don’t have plenty of room.”

“Why are we talking about this? Whatever happened to taking it slow?”

“That was your idea, not mine. When you know what you want for today and tomorrow and all the years after that, why wait? I want forever to start right now.”

“Right this minute?”

“Mmhmm.” He kissed my lips. “We’ve already wasted too much time. I don’t wanna waste another minute. It’s you and me, baby. You’re my end game.”

I looked up at him, and I didn’t know how I could love him more. Was it crazy? Without a doubt. But I knew that Ridge was the only man for me.

All or nothing. This wasn’t the time to play it safe. It was time to take a leap. “Will you be my ride or die?”

“In a heartbeat, baby.”

Our lips collided, and we kissed each other breathless. Just as if there weren’t dozens of people and kids running around. But I didn’t care if the whole world saw us.

We kissed each other like the world was ending, and we were the only two people left on the planet.

We put everything into this kiss, erasing all the fears and doubts, the years of loneliness and heartache, replacing them with love, hope, and possibility.

The sun was setting when we broke apart, breathless, and stared at each other in wonder. Through the eyes of lovers who had found their way home after being lost for so long.

You are my home.

I thought I’d said it in my head, but I must have said it aloud.

“You’re my home, too. Now, how about we get started on those five kids?” He tugged my hand and pulled me along with him, past all the guests, and I had to jog to keep up with him. He was a man on a mission, and I didn’t fight him on it.

I wanted him as much as he wanted me.

Upstairs, he tossed me onto his bed, and I pulled him down on top of me. “Let’s see some of that big dick energy,” I said with a wink.

He growled. “I love your dirty mouth.”

I’d found my forever love in a junkyard under a full moon.

He was wrecked, and I was ruined, but god, we burned so bright.

And our love… it was invincible.
