“You clever beautiful darling,” he murmurs, staring into my eyes with such love, that the mist turns to drops, and one slides down the side of my face, which is still pillowed on Jax’s bicep.
“May I?” Ash’s low drawl sounds, and Kai moves to one side so that Ash can kneel down and place his hand on my stomach.
For a moment nothing happens, and I hold my breath, begging our unborn child for one more so that he can feel it, too. It’s clearly feeling very obliging, or is trying to impress its fathers, as Ash’s hand jumps with another kick. His eyes snap up to mine, the steel in them soft.
“Strong, just like its mother,” he whispers, and I swallow hard.
“Just like its fathers, too,” I reply, another teardrop falling down my cheek.
I shiver as the cold air suddenly hits me, and Ash leans down, placing a gentle, reverent kiss on my lips.
“Come on, Princess. Let’s get you home and into a nice hot bath,” he says, leaning back, then helping me to my feet.
Loki whips off his T-shirt, pulling it over my head, and I nestle into its warm vanilla smell. Kai fetches, then helps meinto my knickers and leggings, and Jax brings me my trainers, helping to slip them onto my feet. I bask in their attention, as they each take care of me, Ash wrapping his arm around me and pulling me close.
We walk out of the warehouse into the night, the stars twinkling behind us and the full moon lighting the way to Jax’s truck. Getting in, I’m sandwiched between Ash and Jax, soaking up their warmth, and we start the drive back to Highgate. Back home.
Although, really, we’re already home, as home is where the heart is. And mine is sitting around me, cradled in four bodies, in four men, the five of us bound to each other in ways that can never be separated.
CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
LILLY
The two weeks after Jax’s fight are a complete blur, what with exams -which hopefully I don’t completely fail at!- wedding planning, and another appointment with Lisa, my midwife. Turns out I’m a teensy bit anaemic, which Kai takes as a personal affront, feeding me steak and green leafy veg until I can’t stand the sight of it. Jax gets me some iron infused water, so I start taking that as well.
Luckily, Erica is incredibly good at what she does, organising a taster menu at a hotel in town, getting the marquee sorted and built, as well as contacting the registrar who’ll perform the ceremony. She does all this and more effortlessly, which is a huge relief as I haven’t a Scooby Doo - clue - what I’m meant to be doing.
She organsied a last minute fitting with the dressmakers, just to ensure that no adjustments need to be made due to my changing shape. A couple of minor alterations later, and it fits me to perfection. The dress hangs in its garment bag in Ash’s room, in his woodland mansion, as I’ve named it. I’m gettingready here, along with Willow who is my maid of honour and only bridesmaid. She practically cried, throwing herself at me when I asked her, silly fairy.
The boys are staying at Highgate because according to a stupid tradition that no one knows the origin of, they can’t be with me, as it’s unlucky for the bridegroom to see the bride the night before the wedding.
My hand trails down the garment bag, my stomach turning uncomfortably with nerves as I pace the room. It’s late, Willow already in bed and probably snoring away. I worry my lip, unable to settle. My mind races, like a pinball machine, landing on one thought, only to fly to another.
I’m excited for tomorrow, to become Ash’s wife is a dream come true. But it also breaks my heart knowing that I can’t marry the others, too. It almost feels like a betrayal, even though I know that they don’t see it that way. I turn, my back to the open stairway, as I pace to the window.
And all this stuff with Julian, with Black Knight Corp., buzzes at me like a wasp. How will we take them down? How can I help? What if we fail?
A noise behind me has me spinning, only to come up short as I see my four Knights, dressed in grey sweatpants and nothing else, standing shoulder to shoulder. It’s enough to still my swirling thoughts as my brain short circuits.
“W-what are you doing here?” I ask, a sudden lightness making me feel as though I could float away. Ash steps forward, his tattooed chest looking almost alive in the low lamplight as he walks towards me, stopping in front of me. As always, my heart rate picks up at his nearness.
“We both know that none of us would have gotten any sleep, Princess, if we’d spent the night apart,” he murmurs, his voice low and deep, telling me that we won’t just be sleeping tonight. At least not straight away.
“We’ll be gone by the morning, darling,” Kai tells me, stepping forward until he’s standing to my left.
“No need to worry about bad luck, Baby Girl,” Jax adds, stepping up to my left.
“And anyway,” Loki drawls, sauntering towards us until he stands behind me. “We make our own luck in this world, Pretty Girl.” My temperature skyrockets at being surrounded by them, being caged in by them. I shiver, my nipples becoming hard points underneath my silk nightdress when a hand trails down my bare arm.
“And the...outfits?” I say, my voice all kinds of breathy as the hand on my other side pushes down the thin strap of the nighty, the other strap quickly following until it pools at my feet in a puddle of rose pink.
“Loki told us that, according to your ‘not-gangbang’ books, this is lingerie for men,” Ash informs me, a slight smirk tilting one side of his lips.
“He would be correct,” I breathe, looking down and seeing the clear outline of Ash’s, Kai’s, and Jax’s hard dicks pressed against the soft grey fabric. Not to be forgotten about, Loki pushes his hips against me, proving that he is in a similar state of arousal.
Loki’s hands come round my sides, cupping and kneading my breasts, groaning.
“These have definitely gotten bigger,” he sighs appreciatively, tweaking my nipples and making me hiss at their sensitivity. “Nipples are more sensitive, too.”
