Thanks to her, we were deeper in the shit than we were before.
Chapter Fourteen
Chelsea
We were bundledinto the back seat of a different SUV from the one which brought us here the night before. This was the kind with seating for seven. Two of Jones' henchmen sat in the rear two seats, behind Dallas, Jay and I, who sat in the middle. Atlas sat beside the driver.
I briefly glimpsed Nyla being pushed into a car in front of us, and Jones himself getting into a third.
In a convoy of an eventual five cars, we drove away from the small house, and back on the highway.
I couldn't help glancing roughly in the direction of Frost's property. Had anyone gone there yet? Had they found their bodies? Did they realise we weren't there, or did they assume we were dead too, incinerated into ash?
To be realistic, if anyone went there already, the debris would be too hot to uncover anything. That would have to wait for at least a day or two. They’d have to wait and search for our remains when the place cooled. Only then would they know we were gone.
If anyone went there at all. Chances were, they hadn't. No one would have started to miss us yet. If Sadie was still in Dusk Bay, she might have. But she wasn't, and everyone else was busywith their lives. Sooner or later, they'd figure it out, but by then it might be too late.
"I'm glad you didn't do that," Dallas whispered, breaking through my thoughts. "Suck his cock," he added a moment later. "I don't think I would have been able to stop myself from ripping him to pieces."
"Me too," Jay whispered. "That was— You would have done it if you had to, wouldn't you?"
"I'd do anything to get us out of there alive," I said. Even choking on his cock. Even letting him slam himself into my pussy. I'd hate every second of it, but I'd force a smile and think of my guys. They were my priority, nothing else.
"Fuck, Chels." Dallas' fingers tightened around my thigh. "This is bullshit."
"You really think she was working with us at all?" Jay asked. “Nyla, I mean.” He seemed particularly uncomfortable, crowded against the door. Trying to give himself some space. A couple of times I thought he might lose his shit, but he'd clung onto it for now. He was tough as hell and I loved him for it.
I shook my head. "I don't know. I think so, but she has an angle of her own." Who the hell didn't? "I think she wants him gone, but she'll throw us under the bus to take care of herself."
"Yeah, I figured," Jay said. "She backpedalled pretty fast when he found out."
"Yeah, she did," I agreed. I was almost grateful they’d discovered what she did. If they hadn't, I'd have the taste of his cum in my mouth right now. Or the feel of it wet between my thighs.
I shuddered.
"I don't trust her," Dallas said. "She'll get us killed if we're not careful."
"Then we be careful," Jay said. "I don't trust her either. I believe her when she said what happened to her, but like Chels said, she's looking after herself."
"She's definitely doing that.” I sighed. Why wouldn't she? She had no reason to trust us either. We could just as easily turn on her if it suited us.
Honestly, if it did, I wasn't sure I'd hesitate. If—when—we got out of here, it might be by screwing her over. I hoped that wouldn't be the case, but if it was, that was what we'd do.
"Could we wait until the car slows down, and…" Dallas jerked his head towards the door beside him.
"Don't fucking try it," one of the minions growled from behind him. "The boss doesn't need you with knees."
His companion laughed as though that was actually funny. "He needs her with knees, so she can kneel in front of him."
"Bitch can kneel in front of me anytime," the first minion said.
"Which one?" the second asked. "This one, or Nyla?"
"Who cares?" the first responded. "A mouth is a mouth. I'd come down both of their throats."
I made a mental note that, if I got a chance, I would kill both of them first.
That thought was followed by the unfriendly reminder I'd never killed anyone. That might change, and it might change soon. If it had to happen, I couldn't hesitate. If I did, I'd be the dead one instead. Or my remaining guys would.
