“Suze, he hasn’t texted or called, he hasn’t emailed, snail mailed, nothing. He left Sadie’s apartment and never looked back.”

“No, he didn’t, Sam.”

I jump to my feet. “What do you mean ‘no, he didn’t’?”

“Just think about the question. Can you forgive him? Then call me back later, or tomorrow, okay?”

“Can you just tell me what the heck—”

“Gotta go! Call me in the morning! Love you!” She hangs up, and I am left standing in the middle of the living room stupefied, like I was after the conversation with her husband two weeks ago. Almost immediately, my phone dings.

Skye: So? Are you going to try to forgive him?

Susan: Too soon, Skye! We literally just hung up.

Skye: Oops.

Me: WTF is going on here

Skye?!?!

What do you know?!

SPILL IT

Skye: I don’t know anything other than that Suze says you should try to forgive Jack Frost.

Sadie: I think I agree.

WHAT!?

What happened to #TeamSam!?

Susan: We are #TeamSam, that’s why we want you to be happy.

Sally: For the record, my jury is still way, way out on this.

Skye: I mean, is Susan ever really wrong? [Shrug emoji]

Meanwhile, it was my first full week at the new job, and it went AMAZING!

Thanks to NONE OF YOU for asking. [Angry emoji]

Skye: Big surprise, you’re a total rock star. It was a given.

Sadie: I asked you repeatedly.

Susan: I asked you just now!

That was just an excuse to call me and drop this terrible #TeamEmerson bomb on me.

Skye: Always so dramatic.

Sally: Congrats on the awesome week, sis! #TeamSam

My mind reels as I put my phone down and go to my room to change. It continues spinning all night long, as my sisters go silent and Sadie holes up in her office. Everything is weird. They’re being weird.

And.
