“Okay, Mr. On Sight.”
I winked, and we continued to enjoy our day at the zoo before grabbing some pizza at The Pizza Barn. Kayson was already knocked out from the long day when we pulled up at the office. I climbed out of the car, ran around and grabbed the door for Legacy, and helped her out.
“Wow, and he’s a gentleman.”
“Baby girl, don’t front like you don’t know. You knew that from how I handled ya li’l horny ass that night at the hotel.”
“You’re right. I did.” She bobbed her head and smiled brightly at me.
I took her hands in mine and looked down at her. “Let’s tally up some points. I was nothing but a gentleman at the hotel, and I left your virtue intact.”
She giggled and replied, “You did. Thank you kindly for that, by the way.”
“You’re welcome. And I helped you gather some things that fell from your purse, including a Plan B box, I might add. Prevented you from being embarrassed in the event a smooth, good-looking gentleman stepped up and saw you at your lowest,” I replied with a wink.
She groaned, threw her hands over her face, and then replied. “Please don’t remind me of that.”
“Then there were numerous times that I held the elevator for ya, late ass.”
She giggled again. “One point each, sir.”
“Oh, and let’s not forget the time that we were stuck in the elevator, and your anxiety crept up and tried to punk you out. I didn’t even let you go out like that. I stood like a G on business and whupped anxiety’s ass.”
She laughed so hard that I had to stop and admire her beauty for a moment.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” she asked, biting her bottom lip shyly.
“I ain’t gon’ hold ya, ma. When you laugh like that, it almost brings a G to his knees.”
“Oh, maybe I should laugh like that more often.”
I cupped her chin and caressed it. “Maybe you should.”
Her eyes dropped to my lips, and I slowly leaned in and brushed mine against hers. Our eyes remained open as she watched me. After several soft pecks, I pulled back. “Just a sampler, that’s all I wanted.”
“Smooth.”
“Wait until you get the full experience.”
“Mm. I’m liking the sound of this more and more.”
“Good. Now, where were we . . . I’ve got to keep adding up those points.”
“Oh, don’t forget how you came through with all the cuteness with baby boy on volunteerism day.”
“Definitely that. And today.”
“Best date ever,” she replied with a giggle.
“How about with all those points I’ve added up, you let me top this date? Just you and me.”
“We’re kicking little guy to the curb with all his cuteness and smooth moves?”
“Yeah, because next time, I want to show you where he gets all that shit from.”
“Oh. Well, just say when.”
“Let me plan something, and you show up, and I’ll show out.”
