I spit my drink out and started choking. Legend was right there patting my back on one side, and Kayson was on the other side doing the same thing. These two were more than a handful.

Chapter 8

Legend

Iknew that she thought her ass was getting out of that zoo date, but it wasn’t happening. I made sure of it. I used my li’l pimp by bringing him to the office on Thursday. I let him hang out with me all day since I didn’t have much to do.

We even took the stairs during lunchtime, with him riding on my shoulders. I timed it perfectly so that we could run into Legacy. Li’l G wasted no time reminding her that he would be picking her up Saturday at eleven. He told her to dress comfortably and be ready to have some fun.

She wasn’t quite ready for me to know where she lived yet. The fact that I had her number was more than enough for her. So we agreed to meet up at the office.

“Sorry that I’m running late,” she apologized as she climbed into my navy blue Denali with us. “I had to finish some paperwork for one of our attorneys and get it down here this morning. I just finished up what I had to do,” she stated, pointing over her shoulder at the building.

“It’s all good, baby girl.”

I closed the door behind her and rounded the front of the car as she turned in her seat to greet Kayson. He was so excited that she was there that he chattered the entire way to the zoo abouthis favorite animals, and he couldn’t wait to go to the cat house to see the panthers and lions. He let out his best roar to impress Legacy.

“Are you thirsty?” I asked when we arrived at the zoo. The temperatures were extremely hot for a May day.

“I could go for some lemonade,” Legacy declared, pointing at the nearby refreshment stand.

“When was the last time you visited the zoo?” I asked as we stood in line to order.

“Oh, wow. It was probably when I was nineteen. I came here to hang out with my sister and a few of our friends, just goofing around. How about you all?”

“Once a quarter.” When she lifted an eyebrow, I pointed at Kayson. “He loves the animals.”

“Can we start at the cat house, Daddy?” he asked.

“Sure, li’l G, if that’s what you want.”

“Come on, Ms. Legacy,” he demanded, grabbing her hand and tugging on it. As soon as we entered the cat house, Kayson took off to his favorite exhibit without getting too far ahead of us.

“Sorry that he’s so aggressive and bossy.”

“It’s okay.” She laughed. “But I’m sure that I know where he got it from.”

“Do you like that in your man?”

She bit her bottom lip and whispered, “Especially in the bedroom.”

My heart and my dick jumped at once. Was she finally coming around, or was it just mind games?

“I’m kind of the same in the bedroom and out,” I replied.

“Mm . . . I’ve seen a softer side of you, at least with that little boy. I think I like that side of you.”

“Oh yeah? Is that what appeals to you?”

“I like a little bit of both with balance.”

“Ain’t no part of me soft in the bedroom, li’l mama. I can promise you that, but I can treat you gently and be tender with you.”

“That sounds like a doable plan.”

“Are we making plans?” I asked, slanting my attention at her.

“Maybe,” she replied with a wink as she sashayed away from me and caught up with Kayson. I stood back and watched as Kayson explained everything to Legacy about the exhibits he was checking out. Throughout the tour of the cat house, he continued to amaze her with his vast knowledge of each cat species.
