Sitting up, I watched him go. It wasn’t so much hurt I was feeling, but anger. Anger that again he had used my body and was now leaving, but then wasn’t that just the way things werebetween us?
I was married to this man I didn’t know, and when he touched me, I forgot all common sense, but there was no real relationship. I was all on my own.
“Ok.” Turning my back to him, I curled myself up on the bed. “Good night, Viktor.”
There was no answer but the sound of the door shutting with a soft click behind him as he left.
Chapter Thirteen
Viktor
My cock throbbed against my zipper as I remembered how Leah had looked this morning as she rode my cock. Her slender thighs clenched around my hips, and her beautiful tits bounced before I caught them in my hands and drew her down so I could lather them with my tongue, swirling my tongue around each diamond-hard point so I could draw them up even harder.
She had the most beautiful tits, small but perfectly formed little teardrops that fit snugly into my hands. But it was more than the feel of her tight, young body under mine, or like this morning on mine, and taking what she needed. It was her. The fire I loved, the submission I loved more.
Leah fit into my life like a lifeline. When I’d had a bad day, I knew I could go home, and her body would be waiting for me. No drama, no complications. She was there for me like the good, dutiful wife I needed. Yes, it was what I was paying her to do, but at the same time, it was more than that. She was—
Well, she was something I hadn’t even realized I needed untilrecently. If I had known this was what it was like to be married, I would have taken the plunge years ago.
“When is my wife’s appointment due to end?” I asked, cutting into the men’s chatter around me. This meeting was nothing more than a formality. They didn’t need me here, but I had wanted to be in the city for when Leah finished her appointment. “I would like to take her to lunch,” I added to the shocked faces that stared at me.
“Viktor,” a frown pinched together the eyebrows of my second in command, Ivan.
He looked away quickly when I speared him with my eyes.
“It ended about an hour ago,” He said quietly.
The air left my lungs in a whoosh. “Then, where the fuck is she?”
“Stephen is with her,” Ivan said quickly, but one look at my face, and he knew I didn’t give a shit who was with her. It was the fact that she had left when I had told her to stay. She had disobeyed me, and by doing so, she had put her life in danger.
Everyone knew she was mine. People all over the city wanted to meet her and see for themselves who had finally managed to trap Viktor Petrov in marriage.
Her running off, without even telling me where she was going, was just a disaster waiting to happen. Yes, Stephen was with her, but—
My hands balled into fists. I launched myself out of the chair with so much force that it toppled backwards.
“Viktor, calm down,” Ivan rushed out of the room after me. “I’ll call Stephen and find out where she is.”
Ignoring him, I stormed out the door. I didn’t need Stephen to tell me what I already knew. Leah would have gone back to her old life, the life I had saved her from.
I’d plucked her from poverty and given her the best clothes and food money could buy. I had been about to take her out for dinner, like a date, because like a fool, I thought she might like that, and she deserved to be treated like—
Like what? I asked myself as I got into my car and sped away, forcing the sleek black car into the heavy traffic. Like she was myactual wife? Maybe on paper she was, but that didn’t mean I had to treat her like anything but what she was, a paid whore.
Leah wasn’t perfect. She wasn’t mine. She was a woman who slept with me because I was paying her to do it. Twenty minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot of the gas station. Instantly, spotting one of my cars, I pulled in beside it.
“Boss?” From the door, I watched Stephen straighten. A look of apprehension tightened his features. “Is there a problem?”
“Oh, there is going to be.” I swept past him. “And I’ll deal with you later.”
The little bell over the door tinkled as I pushed my way in. My eyes scanned the crowded shelves until I saw her, sitting on a little step ladder with her legs swinging as she chatted away to the man who had spent the night on her couch the first night we had been together.
Her face was tilted up to him, laughing. She looked young and beautiful and completely carefree.
Rage took me over. I crossed the space between us so quickly that she had barely looked up in shock before my hands closed around his throat, and I was lifting him away from her. The first punch took him completely by surprise. The second knocked him off his feet completely.
“Viktor,” Leah screamed, scrambling from her perch, she tried to grab at my arm and pull me back, but she might as well have been trying to move a boulder.
