When I finish the chapter, we read over it, and I nod. “I like it.”

“Me too,” he says, taking the laptop and placing it on the ground beside us. Then he removes my glasses from my face and sets them on top. “Now make out with me until it’s time for lunch. Then we can hit the beach.”

“Can we do the pool today instead? I’m feeling cocktails and a lounge chair.”

“Perfect,” he says. “Just like you.”

Chapter 19

Wetter than water

Thenextfivedaysgo much like that Saturday. Reno works out in the morning, we have breakfast, and then I write in the hammock while he watches and commentates. After lunch, we spend time together on the beach or at the pool.

And the nights? Yeah. The nights are the best. I don’t know what kinds of vitamins Reno Swain takes, but they need to be marketed with a big photo of him and our sex stats on a cleverly designed graphic. Perhaps with some graphs and pie charts detailing stamina and orgasm counts.

By Thursday, I’m completely addicted to the man, and the thought of him leaving in three days makes my stomach clench.

“I think it’s right up here,” Reno says, gesturing to the left before maneuvering the open-air Jeep down the bumpy road. A few minutes later, the most beautiful waterfall I’ve ever seen comes into view. It’s not super high, only about twelve feet, so the fall of water is gentle.

“Wow,” I breathe, pulling out my phone to take some pictures for inspiration. I’m a visual learner—hence the cock folder on my computer—so these will come in handy when I’m writing later.

I stand and poke my head out the top of the vehicle, closing my eyes and inhaling the intoxicating scents. It smells earthy and sweet like flowers and grass after a fresh rain, with notes of salty water layered on top.

After opening my eyes and surveying the landscape, I tap some notes about the colorsinto my notes app. Deep purples and magentas. Bright yellows and oranges. Splashes of vibrant reds. It’s absolutely breathtaking.

When I’m done, I glance over to see Reno standing patiently beside my door with his hands in his pockets, an affectionate smile on his face.

“You done, or do you need more time?” he asks, and I toss my phone onto the seat and shake my head.

“All done.”

Without opening the door, he lifts me from the vehicle like I’m light as a feather and sets me on my feet.

I run my hands up his bare chest, letting my fingers slide through the dark hair there. “Can I petition someone so that you’re required to walk around shirtless at all times? Is there some kind of organization like the International Association Of Hot Guys Who Should Go Nipples Out At All Times?”

“Ahhh, yes,” he says, nodding sagely. “The IAOHGWSGNOAAT. A fine institution.”

I giggle, loving how silly he can be with me. “They’re truly doing the Lord’s work over there.”

His hands slip around me and untie my silver bikini top with little effort. “You know, the only way to enjoy a waterfall is naked.”

“Is that so?” I tease.

“Uh-huh. It’s Reno’s Law, and it’s been approved by the IAOHGWSGNOAAT,” he says, his voice taking on a deep timbre as he goes to work on my denim shorts.

“I certainly wouldn’t want to be in violation of the law.”

“No, ma’am, you do not. The punishment is quite severe.” My shorts hit the ground, leaving me only in my swim bottoms.

Hovering my lips over his, I whisper, “Are there spankings involved?”

Reno nips my bottom lip. “Violators will definitely experience RAS?” When I lift my brows in question, he explains. “Red ass syndrome.”

“Aren’t you full of acronyms today?” I ask, untying the drawstring at his waist. “Better get these trunks off before I’m forced to punish you. Give you your own dose of RAS.”

He grins and helps me to get his shorts down before removing my bottoms, retrieving all our clothes, and then tossing it inside the Jeep while I grab the beach towels. Then we hold hands and walk to the edge of the turquoise pool that spans the length of the private area.

The pool is surprisingly warm as we step in and swim out to the center, where the water is slightly more teal. We flip onto our backs, link outstretched hands, and stare up at the azure sky.
