“Let’s go!” Melody claps excitedly. I’m going to have to ask Kai what he said to her because she looks relaxed again.
Kai reaches into the bag and pulls out a black hat, slipping it on his head before throwing a navy one at Reis. They pull out some aviator sunglasses from the bottom of the bag, and Kai pulls his hood up.
“You look like you’re going to rob a bank,” Adam says, deadpanned.
“Maybe I will.”
“Call Jerry, for security info and details. I’ll send you the info I received. Be back here in forty minutes.” I pull my phone out, tapping away to send the info to Reis.
“Who wants to go to Big Ben and who wants to go to The Eye?” Melody asks excitedly.
“We’ll do the Eye,” I hold my hand up between Adam and I. No reason for Kai to have to explain that ferris wheels or heights aren’t really his thing. Kai nods to me in thanks and says, “We’ve got Big Ben then. Let’s go.”
He grabs Mel’s hand, pulls her closer to the door. She stops, grabbing my shirt and giving me a quick kiss goodbye before doing the same to Adam. She waves back at us as Kai drags her and Reis out the door.
“Drink?” I ask Adam, sighing.
“It’s noon.”
“Not at home it isn’t.”
THIRTY
I’m in fucking London.
London,England.
What life is this?
Kai’s pulling me through the restaurant, his head down as Reis walks behind us – equally in incognito mode.
While it’s a little ridiculous that they think just putting on a hat and glasses will keep them from being spotted, I also can see that if I wasn’t actively looking for them, my eyes would just gloss over them as well. Let’s hope that no one else realizes it’s them—the guys fromOn The Edge.
I want them to myself for just a little longer.
Kai pulls his phone out with his free hand, and I see he’s getting directions as Reis types furiously on his phone.
When we get out of the pub the energy here hits me full force. It’s like New York but steadier. More calm, more laid back, but still bustling with people. My head darts from side to side, and my eyes drink in as much as I can. I walk towards the street so I can get a good look. Kai let go of my hand to look closer at his phone, and I just marvel at this place.
Somewhere I never thought I’d get to see in real life, but always wished I could go.
“You’re beautiful,” Reis says quietly, sliding in beside me.
“What?”
“I said, you’re beautiful, Reverb,” he repeats, pushing a lock of my hair around my ear. “I meant what I said. I love you, and I want to give you everything I have.”
A smile lights up my face as his words hit me square in the chest. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing him say that to me. Especially after I spent so fucking long thinking I’d never hear him say it at all.
Reis curls his hand around my ear and his palm cradles my face before he presses a soft kiss to my forehead. I swear, I could melt right here.
“I love you,” I say softly. My tone is quiet enough that it’s only for him. Reis' dark eyes sparkle with happiness and I press a kiss to his jaw.
“This way!” Kai says excitedly and pulling my hand from Reis, dragging me to him. “Come on, the clock is ticking!”
Reis grumbles under his breath, but I smile brightly.
I’m happy. Finally.
