“Are you going to keep hiding the truth from me?” She asks me softly. The way she said those words made me stop and pause.
That’s exactly what I was doing. In my desperate hope to keep her safe mentally, emotionally, physically, I was withholding information from her because I thought it was best for her. And in doing so, I was taking a choice from her.
Sighing, I looked back at the computer and saw Trent just staring at me.
“The Garzino’s have put out a bounty on you. Which means Luca no longer cares about him being the one to bring you in.” I said, taking her hand in mine and walking her over to the couch to sit so we can all have this conversation.
“Oh.” She says sharply, breathing in.
“They’re struggling with money and have…” Trent started to say but I cut him off with a look.
“They’re selling people. You said so yourself.” She pressed, looking to Trent and to me.
“They are trying to get into that game. I don’t have any more information at the moment. But I believe the Garzino’s are going to have some kind of big event to…dip their toe into the industry. So to say.” Trent said, looking as disgusted as I felt.
We sat there quietly, letting Talia think things through. The silence was unnerving and starting to grate on my nerves. The more we sat there in silence, the more my mind started to wander to the worst scenarios going through her head. I was worried because the more she sat there, the more her face fell, her energy shifted darker and her body tensed.
“Talia?” I asked, squeezing her thigh gently to try and get her attention.
“I’m going to kill him.” She whispered, looking down at her hands as they clenched into fists. “I’mgoing to kill him.”
Her words were so calm and quiet that I almost didn’t hear her say them.
“What did she say?” Trent was leaning closer to the camera, obviously trying to hear.
Talia looked up slowly, her eyes entranced and burning. If I wasn’t so fucking worried about her, I’d be turned on as hell.
Who are we kidding though, I’m always turned on when it came to her.
“I said, I’m going tofucking KILL HIM!” She screamed at the camera, at Trent, at me, at the situation. She stood up, bent over the computer, pointing at the computer like it and Trent was the source of all her problems. “He will die and he will die soon. I am not going to let innocent people get hurt because of me and my choices. After all he’s done to me, done to my family and now this, hurting innocent people, there is nofuckingway I’m letting him live longer than I have to.”
My girl was fuming, murderous and I could tell she was 100% serious. An avenging angel in front of me, and my cock was getting harder and harder under my boxers.
I’m fucked up, I get it but she’s beautiful and murderous and it showed me how much we were alike. And how much she was healing because she feels safe enough to let her true feelings out, without fear of retribution or punishment.
Goddamn, it is so fucking sexy. I have to move my dick to the side to avoid drawing attention to it quickly thickening.
Talia stands up quickly, pushing off the couch with fierceness and storming off to the bedroom.
“That, I was not expecting.” Trent says, his mouth gaping slightly.
“Me neither.” I really wasn’t. I was thinking she’d curl into herself, get scared, or worst-case scenario, go silent and shut the world out in some kind of numb coma.
But I should’ve known not to try and shield her quite so much anymore. Because my girl, my angel, was a fucking badass.
“Where’d she go?’
“To the bedroom. I’ll be right back.” I needed to make sure she was okay. “Talia?” I knock on the bedroom door cautiously, and have to jolt backward because she opened the door so quickly.
She was dressed in an all-black outfit; tight leggings that showed off her shapely, little ass, and a black t-shirt that was just loose enough that she was comfortable and most alarming, black converse on her feet as she pulled her hair into a high ponytail. “Yes?”
“Where are you going?” My voice came out more demanding than anticipated, but really, where the fuck did she think that she was going? We were at the beach, a secluded location that I’ve kept a secret and protected for years, a few hours away from everything she knows. There’s no goddamn way I’m letting her go anywhere.
“I’m going to go get Luca and knock some sense into him.” She replies, pushing past me and into the living room. “Where’s that backpack you had?”
“You’re not going anywhere. Are you fucking crazy?” I snap.
“Talia, you can’t leave.” Trent’s voice comes in from the computer.
