Talia

Wrapped up in Kieron’s jacket, I followed closely behind him through the building. He had linked our fingers together and pulled me along the maze of hallways and floors.

This building seemed to never end.

We got into the elevator and Kieron pushed the top floor button so we could meet Kellan. I knew the risks I was taking by giving Kellan and Kieron the information on Luca and the Italians. But I also knew I couldn’t live like this anymore. Kieron was right, I couldn’t let Luca take more from me.

I was free.

If what Kieron promised about his standing and the strength of the Irish mob was true, then I guess I really didn’t have much of anything to worry about.

But that didn’t stop me from worrying.

The insecurities and worries were running rampant through my mind. What if Kieron got hurt? What if Kellan decides I’m not worth the effort and Kieron agrees? What if the Italians are able to make it past the impenetrable defenses of the Irish?

What was the hardest for me to quiet in my mind was; what if Kieron ends up deciding I’m not worth all this trouble? That it’d be that much easier to drop me back off where he found me and high-tail it out of this messed up situation?

I don’t think I would be able to survive him leaving me twice.

“Don’t look so somber, baby. All he wants is to ask some questions and then that’s it.” Kieron pulled our linked hands to rest on his chest and pressed a soft kiss to my knuckles. “Have I told you today how beautiful you are?”

I rolled my eyes but that didn’t stop a smile from crossing my face. The bruising had faded just slightly, but I was able to smile and show expression on my face without pain anymore.

“The purple hair is really sexy on you. I can’t wait to take you back to the apartment and show you just how much.” He whispered naughtily in my ear. He pulled back with a smirk like he knewexactlyhow his words affected me.

Let’s just say the thin scrap of lace felt barely there now.

“And when will that be?” I bite my lip and look up at him through my eyelashes.

“As soon as I fucking can. Promise.” Kieron bent his head down and kissed my neck in the perfect spot. The spot he’d found earlier that drove me crazy. My eyes closed and a small moan escaped my lips.

We were stopped outside Kellan’s office; the hallway brightly lit and completely absent of any noise. Kieron looked down the hallway quickly, as if checking that there wasn’t anyone watching us. Satisfied that the coast was clear, he turned his attention back onto me.

Before I could even make a sound to ask what was going on, Kieron pushed me up against the wall. My back hit the wall with a soft thud, and his mouth descended on mine in possessive dominance. I wrapped my arms around his strong shoulders and returned the kiss with as much passion as I could. I knew that we had a meeting, but I couldn’t find it in myself to care when he was holding my thighs so tightly, when he was kissing me so hard, when my fingers were tangling in his dark hair that felt like silk.

He pulled away abruptly, still holding me up, but giving me the chance to chase his lips.

“I just can’t keep my fucking hands off you.” He said breathlessly. “But we have to go talk to my dad. He’s expecting us.”

“You started it.”

“I couldn’t help it.” He chuckled. I’m sure I was pouting, but he slowly lowered me to the ground. His hands never leaving my body as I slowly lowered down, our eyes never leaving each other.

The tension between us was so thick and heavy that I was surprised he didn’t rip my clothes off right now and take me on the carpet.

If he did, I certainly wouldn’t stop him.

With a deep groan that sounded too much like a whine, Kieron stepped away and knocked loudly on the door, letting his dad know we were there.

This visit was much different from the first meeting I’d had with Kellan and Kieron. The energy coming from the office snuffed out the sexual tension the moment the door opened.

Kellan was sitting at his desk, staring at us as we walked in with his arms crossed. He was sitting back in his chair with a thoughtful look on his face. It was an odd energy that filled the room, and he looked every bit the ruler he was.

Kieron led me into the room with him closely in front of me. “Come on, baby.” He whispered.

“Talia, your hair.” Kellan said as he uncrossed his arms and leaned forward in his chair. “It’s a mighty change but it’s a good one.”

“I agree.” Kieron says, squeezing my hand before letting go of it and sitting in one of the chairs in front of the desk.
