I can’t let us marry this Piper person.

I am known for myartand my culture. My patronage of the symphony, the ballet, art galleries all over the Capitol. I have a reputation to uphold.

I can’t and won’t be seen in person with someone who looks like this.

How did she even get in? I thought I knew all the Omegas from the Capitol.

Is it possible she’s from. . . the country or something?

Good god

CHAPTER4

Teddy

I’m reminiscing about last night with Chloe and Zoey, their lovely red lips taking turns around my cock. I’ve fucked most of the cheerleaders on the team, but there’s something about the two of them that really gets my fucking cock hard.

Taking an Omega has never been a priority for me. I have too much fun with Betas. There are a lot of hot Beta women, and they all want to fuck me. With my celebrity, I have no problem bedding any woman I want.

But Rook and Erain are insistent that we need to take an Omega, that it’ll give us more status and power.

So I agree, even though all I care about is football, and you don’t need an Omega for that.

We’ve been best friends and a Pack since high school, even though in some ways the three of us couldn’t be more different. But we’ve always been three driven, ambitious Alphas, and together we’ve parlayed our raw power to prime quarters in the Palace.

And next year we’ll probably be running the damn country.

So when our new Omega walks toward us, I barely even look at her face because all I can think when I see her is. . .

Oh, this is going to piss Erain off so much. . .

CHAPTER5

Piper

Any optimism quickly plummets as I walk toward my new Pack, even though I’m trying to talk myself into thinking maybe I’m lucky for once in my life, instead ofthis is the worst pairing ever.

None of them look at all welcoming or excited to see me, and my stomach plummets to the ground as they just stand there like statues staring at me.

Not knowing what else to do, I stick my hand out at Rook, because I know he’s First Alpha.

“Nice to meet you.”

He sticks one of his huge meathooks out almost automatically, like how is this guy a politician with how stiff he is, but before we make contact, a harsh, arrogant voice cuts through the silence.

“Theremustbe some mistake,” Erain says, his eyes flicking up and down my body.

And with that one look my blood turns to ice inside me.

“There was no mistake,” Rook replies, but it wasn’t quite quick enough. I caught the hesitation in his voice.

“You displayed at Card 7, correct?” the doctor says, his voice respectful but with a thread of confusion. “That was her card. Piper Ridenour. She is your fated mate.”

“I don’t—“ Erain begins, his lips pressed together, but Rook silences him with a First Alpha growl.

“Stop.”

The poor doctor looks a bit bewildered, and rushes over his next words to make this better.
