I don't know where she found it or why she loves it so much, but if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that she never goes anywhere without at least one bottle of it.
The fragile bottle is laying on its side, but it's not broken or smashed.
The more I look around, the more I realize that nothing is actually destroyed besides the hotel room itself. Jayne's things are thrown around, but once she'll be able to pack everything back up in a bag as if nothing had happened once I leave.
If someone were really in here to cause destruction, why would they go through the hassle of making sure her stuff was still intact?
It just doesn't make sense to me.
I try to stay focused, but Jayne's constant sniffling and huffing is starting to irk my last nerve.
"Do you have to do that here?" I fist my hands but don't turn to look at her.
"In case you haven't noticed, I don't have anywhere else to go." She instantly answers.
"Whose fault is that?"
"You know what, whatever. You're right. I don't need to be here to watch you go through my shit." Jayne grumbles before she turns on her heel and walks out of the room into the bathroom.
I haven't checked in there yet, but the fact that she's not screaming lets me know that most of the damage must have been focused right here.
As soon as the door to the bathroom closes, it's as if I can take in a full breath. I don't have Jayne right behind me anymore. The distance gives me clarity.
My eyes scan the room, searching almost desperately for anything to be broken. When I don't see it, a lead ball forms in my gut.
I don't want to believe it. Not Jayne.
Sure, we're no longer together, and I try to tell myself that we both hate the air the other breathes, but I didn't think it had gotten so bad that one of us would hurt the other.
The bad blood doesn't run that deep, does it?
"Eva?" I call over to her. It takes her a second to reply. She's got her eyes locked on her phone. Whatever she's scrolling through must be entertaining because she's got a small smirk on her face.
"Yo!" I have to shout.
"Damn, I'm right here." She scoffs and shoves her phone in her pocket.
I wave her over to where I am. I'm still very aware that even though Jayne isn't in the room, she is still close enough that she may be able to hear me.
Eva walks over to me, standing a little too close for comfort. Her perfume is overpowering but still isn't enough to get the smell of peaches out of my nose.
"What's up?" Eva asks, looking up at me.
"Tell me the truth. Is there any possibility that Jayne may have done this herself? Destroyed the room just so one of us would have a reason to come over here?"
Eva's eyes go wide for a second before she shakes her head. "You don't think..."
"I'm not asking you to worry about what I'm thinking. I'm asking you to tell me the truth."
"No, there's no way. I was sitting up front when she pulled up. I saw her walk in. She came and got me less than a minute after. Unless she's some sort of magician, there's no way she could've done all this in that short of time."
I hear what Eva is telling me, but there's still the possibility that Jayne might have paid someone to come in and do this.
In all the time that I've known Jayne, I would never think she would do something like this, but then again, after what the club just went through with Nisa, I have doubts.
Nisa had known and been affiliated with Chrome Creed since she was just a small pre-teen.
We all thought she was loyal to us. It turned out not to be the case. She nearly destroyed us until she pulled her head out of her ass and realized that she was just being used. We wound up having to get her out of some deep shit.
