“Why don’t you tell me all about it, Lisa? And then we’ll get you to stop again, won’t we? You’ll be a good girl for me?” I tip her chin up to look at me.

She has brown eyes and a more angular face than Crystal. Her hair is more yellow. She’s beautiful, yes, but she’s not who I really want. I guess she’ll do for the night, though.

“Oh, yes. I promise. I’ll be the best girl, I swear.” She bounces on the toes of her pink Pleaser heels so excitedly her tits nearly come out of her top.

I can’t help but grin just a little at her excitement. Lisa might not be the one for me, but sheissweet and tonight I’ll treat her right. Well, in the way I do anyway.

“Come. We’ll find better ways to use that pretty mouth.”

I wrap my arm around Lisa’s shoulder and we head upstairs where I’ve already booked a room, planning to spend the night away from town as I tend to do on my visits to this place.

Though it turns out I don’t need the room tonight. As soon as I close the door to the room and Lisa runs a pink-nailed hand down my chest, I know this night won’t end any other way than with me alone. I take Lisa’s hand away from my body and ask her about what problems caused her to start her nervous gum-chewing habit again. I let her talk about it until she seems to have worked through her issue, then I give her a kiss on the cheek, claim a stomach issue, and go home.

I can’t get Crystal out of my head. It bothers me greatly that she will be with Trig doing who knows what passionate things while I can’t bring myself to spend the night with a woman who I know well. But it can’t be helped. I’m already in too deep.Fuck.

Chapter Sixteen – Trig

The glass misses my face by about an inch max as it smashes against the wall behind me.Holy shit that was close.

“You scrawny motherfucker! You think you can just scuttle up and take the only new pussy this town has had in years? You think she wants your pencil dick?” Brutus, the owner of the auto repair shop, doesn’t seem pleased that Crystal is going on a date with me tomorrow.

I’m not really sure how he knows, because I didn’t tell anyone, and I don’t think Crystal did. But I also don’t see why it’s a problem. It’s just a date!

“Brutus! Calm down!” shouts Mary from behind the bar. She owns this place and she’s not afraid to mess some people up if things get too rough. “What the hell is going on?”

“This piece of shit asked out the new pie lady and now she’s taken for the whole weekend. He knows some of us are older and therefore should get first pick of new women. That’s how it should work.” He slams a fist against a table, and I cringe.

Wait. I only asked her out one weekend day. Hmm.

“The lady can date whoever the hell she wants. Now, calm the fuck down or get out of my bar.” Mary spits her words at Brutus.

“It ain’t fair,” Brutus throws another glass at my head, which I barely dodge, before he heads out the door.Yikes.

“Sorry, guys,” I say from the corner where I’m admittedly cowering. I’m definitely not a fighter. “I swear I didn’t try to provoke him.”

“Brutus just sucks,” James laughs as he pats the seat of the booth next to him. “Get your ass back here.”

The physical education teacher and I were just eating our burgers and drinking our beers when Brutus started screaming at me to stand up. I knew something bad was going to go down. I didn’t want James to get involved so I stood up and moved to the side. Then all that mess happened.Oof.

“He totally sucks. If he liked her, he should have asked her out. She would have said no though because he’s gross, obviously.” I take a bite of my burger and a glob of mustard splats onto the front of my white t-shirt. When I try to wipe it away, it just smears further. “Um. Maybe I shouldn’t talk about gross. I should know better than to wear white at dinner since I’m such a freaking disaster.”

“Yeah, you are. But not like Brutus. You’re just a little messy. Gotta have backups.” James zips up my black hoodie. “There ya go, all better. No one will know now.”

“Thank you, thank you.” I laugh. “Now I will just have to remember to bring a hoodie on my date tomorrow I guess.”

James sets his elbow on the table and his head on top of his hand, looking at me thoughtfully.

“You really like this girl, huh? I’ve never seen you nervous about a date before.”

“Yeah, I do. She’s so sweet. And wow, she’s gorgeous. I just have this feeling about her that we’re…I don’t know. There’s just a connection there.”

My phone buzzes and I quickly peek at the notification.Crystal.

“And there she is. Let me check this text really quick.”

I pull up my messages to see what she says. Please don’t cancel.

Crystal: Hey there! I have a little something serious to talk about. Phone okay?
