“He’s…he’s not here, Sir,” she replied.
I cocked an eyebrow. “Where is he?”
She shrugged. “It’s his day off, Sir.”
“He quit,” another employee corrected.
“When?” I asked.
“Two days ago, Sir, said he found a better job,” the male employee, still going through puberty, informed me.
Shit! The two times I’d fucked him, it had always been here. Once in a stall in the bathroom and another time in the manager’s office. I didn’t know where he lived. Of course, that information was going to be easy for me to gather.
“Get me your manager,” I demanded.
“Yes, Sir,” the human said, then scrambled off.
“Hey buddy, some of us are trying to order something to eat,” one of the irate customers behind me foolishly blurted out.
I turned to face the loudmouth. He looked to be about nineteen, twenty, no older than that. It might have explained why he was quick to make such a mistake. “Is that so?”
“Yeah, it’s so. You just can’t cut in front—” He stopped mouthing off long enough to look at the person who tugged on his sleeve. “What?” he asked the other guy, who was now shaking his head.
“What your friend there is trying to warn you about is that I am a dragon, you buffoon. A Knight, to be exact, and don’t worry… I have something for you to eat. Stay where you are or risk my wrath,” I commanded.
He swallowed hard and I could see his expression change from incredulous to sheer panic. He held his hands up, surrendering to me. “Please, Sir… I—I didn’t know. I just thought—”
“You thought wrong and I will deal with you shortly.” I turned back around just in time to address the manager. “I want to know Isiah’s home address, now.”
“Yes, Sir,” the manager said, then quickly ran off to fetch it for me. I waited the two minutes it took the manager to get me the information I wanted.
“This is the last known address we have on file, Sir,” the manager said, handing me the paper with shaky fingers.
I snatched it from him, then I turned back to Mr. Shit Talker. “You, come.”
“Please, I—I…”
“Are you refusing to follow an order from a dragon Knight?” I asked, one eyebrow raised inquisitively.
Sweat had already begun pouring from his pores the moment he knew he’d stepped out of line, but now even his shirt had armpit stains.
“I’m sorry, Sir,” he groveled.
I snorted. “Not yet, you aren’t. Now, come.” I walked off and expected him to follow me. I could smell his scent as he trailed slowly behind me. As we walked through the restaurant towards the exit, the customers inside averted their eyes and the entire place was quiet. These humans knew their place. The one I was taking with me would learn his soon enough.
I stepped outside to the cool air brushing along my skin, which felt fantastic. As dragons, we tended to run hot. Winter was one of my favorite seasons and we were coming into it soon. I walked to my car and waited for the human to join me.
“Stop dragging your ass, it’s only pissing me off more,” I growled.
“What are you going to do to me, Sir?” he asked once he stood in front of me.
He was cute. Big brown eyes, sandy blond hair, and some nice cock-sucking lips. I wondered if he had ever had the pleasure. I could smell that he wasn’t a virgin, pity.
“Get in the car,” I ordered, choosing to ignore his question. He did as he was told, and I was off towards Isiah’s apartment. It was in the lower rent section of my district. I parked and looked at the human sitting in the back seat. “Stay here. If I come back and find out you ran away, you will face punishment that may result in your death. Do you understand me, boy?”
He swallowed hard and nodded. “Yes, Sir! I… I won’t leave. Just please don’t hurt me. I’m so fucking sorry.”
I smirked. “You behave yourself and I may take it easy on you. Now, do as I’ve said.”
