“Let’s go,” Chandler said, propping the door open for us.

“Where’s Delilah?” I asked, wanting to make sure she was all right.

“Flirting with the guards and keeping their attention off of us,” Chandler said. “Now hurry the fuck up.”

I huffed, but walked back to the Jeep with Zachary and opened the door to see David pulling the needle out of the Alpha’s arm.

“I just dosed his ass. These tranqs don’t last very long on his kind,” David said.

“That’s why we need to move fast. Come on,” I said, grabbing the wolf’s legs. Zack and David each took an arm, and together we carried the wolf inside. “Where is the room?” I asked.

“Second door to your left,” Chandler replied. “I have to go back up to the front with Delilah.”

“Fine, go. Keep those guards away as long as possible,” I said. Chandler nodded, then left. I had to admit, their security was shit, and breaking in had been easier than I thought it was going to be. So far, so good with this plan. It seemed like Chandler did have all of the details worked out.

“Fuck, this bastard is heavy,” David complained with a grunt as he struggled to hold his end of the body. We walked into a room whose main use was to drain humans of their blood. We placed the wolf’s body in one of the chairs and tied him down.

“Shit, you ain’t lying, damn!” Zachary echoed in a husky whisper.

“Yeah,” I huffed. “Okay, let’s hook this bitch up.” The wolf was the only one I was willing to kill. I grabbed one of the long needles used to syphon the blood from innocent humans and jammed that bastard into his vein. He stirred a little, but didn’t wake up. David put the other needle into his right arm and I turned on the machine. I smiled widely when I saw the blood moving through the red tubes towards the reservoir. “Fucking die, you monster,” I said, then spat in his face. I hated all of these monsters and hoped they all burned in hell.

“We need to get the hell out of here,” Zach said.

“Will that kill him?” David asked.

“I… I don’t know. Draining of all his blood… maybe. Chandler swore that’s how he killed the last one,” I answered… but now I was really doubting certain things that motherfucker had told me. Maybe it was best if I just put a silver bullet in this fucker’s heart. “Better be sure.” I pulled my gun out and had cocked it.

“Don’t!” Zach said. “Remember, this needs to look like the vampires did it. Plus, the guards will hear it. We’re supposed to be stealthy.”

Shit, he had a point. I just hated the thought of leaving an Alpha alive. I looked around the room for something to decapitate him with. It would satisfy my need to kill him and drain his blood, yet still look like vampires did it. Win-win. I noticed a bone saw laying on a tray with other murder tools in the far corner of the room. I started to head over to it, but then the sound of Delilah screaming jarred me. “What the fuck?”

I ran out of the room, followed by Zach and David. We entered the lobby of the place and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw three out of four guards lying face down on the floor. Delilah and Chandler were standing over them, guns raised.

“What the fuck are you doing?” I asked.

“We had to make a change in the plan,” Chandler said, never taking his eyes off the guard who was still challenging him. “Get down on the fucking floor!”

“We’re not here to kill you, but we will if you get in our way,” I said, hoping to alleviate some of the tension. I had no idea what the hell had happened to bring this shit on. But now, we really needed to get the fuck out of there.

“Do you know who you’re fucking with?” one of the guards questioned as he held his hands up.

“Yeah, we do,” I said, pulling my gun out and aiming it at his head. “We need to get the hell out of here.”

“We need to make sure the wolf is drained to death,” Chandler said, then returned his attention to the guard who was still standing.

“What’s going on?” Zach asked. It was a great question I didn’t have an answer for.

“Keep it together,” Chandler said.

I kept my gun aimed at the guard because it looked like he was trying make a play and I didn’t want any of my crew getting hurt. “Get the fuck on the floor or lose the function of your leg,” I barked, lowering my gun to his kneecap.

He sneered at me, but complied by lowering himself to the floor and laying down face-first. The best thing was that there weren’t any supes here, everyone was human, so we had a good chance of making this work as long as there weren’t any cowboys among them.

“You’re all dead motherfuckers. When our boss gets wind of this, he’ll hunt you down and skin you alive,” he threatened.

“Oh, you think so?” Chandler questioned.

“I know so,” the guard said.
