The woman with her noticed too.
“Ohhh,” she sang loud enough for me to hear. “So that’s the fine ass man you’ve been keeping a secret?”
Baylyn groaned. “Cami, please.”
Cami, okay that’s who she is. Baylyn had mentioned her a few times but I didn’t meet her when I pulled up last time.
“What? I feel betrayed, Baylyn. I thought we were friends.”
Baylyn grumbled something under her breath before she was close enough that I could make contact, gripping her hip, bringing her to me. She stepped between my legs and her hands landed lightly on my chest.
I lifted her chin and kissed her. She sighed against my lips but when I pulled back, I caught the way her eyes darted around.
“You embarrassed to let your people know you have a man, Baylyn?”
She rolled her eyes. “No.”
I lifted a brow. “Then why are you blushing?”
She groaned. “Because—” She cut herself off. “Can we go?”
I chuckled, brushing my thumb over her hip before releasing her. Cami was still watching and grinning way too hard. I shookmy head, rounding the car and opening the passenger door for Baylyn. She got in quickly, like she was escaping.
Cami watched my every move but I didn’t pay her any mind. I wasn’t fucking this up and having my lady second guessing me. I just shook my head, got in, and pulled out of the lot. My hand found its way to her thigh as I drove with my fingers mindlessly gliding over it. She was watching me. I could feel it, so I checked her occasionally, but mostly, I kept my eyes on the road.
“How was your day?”
She sank into her seat. “Busy.”
“Yeah? That why you forgot to eat?”
She side eyed me. “I didn’t forget. I just got distracted.”
I dragged my fingers higher up her leg. “I’m starting to think you need me keeping tabs on you full-time.”
She scoffed, shaking her head. “That would be exhausting for you.”
I glanced at her, grinning. “You saying you’re a lot to handle?”
“I know I am.”
I chuckled, squeezing her thigh. “Lucky for you, I don’t mind putting in the work.”
She bit her lip and I caught the way she fought a smile.
“Just say it.”
“Say what?” she asked innocently.
“That you like the idea of me putting in workandthat you missed me today.”
“I am not saying that.”
“Why the fuck not. It’s true?”
“You shouldn’t assume things,” she said smiling at me.
I just chuckled, dragging my hand higher up her thigh. “It’s okay, beautiful. I already knew.”
