“Thank ye for all ye’ve done for us,” Robert said. “We are truly happy to be here and looking forward to what life in Glendaloch will bring us.”
“We love you both so very much and will forever be indebted to you.” Emilie got a little teary-eyed, which set Edna off as well.
Angus handed her a hankie and she used it to dry her eyes before hugging Emilie one more time.
“We’ll be back. Ye havenae seen the last of us,” Angus said. “Those bairns are quite the draw.”
Maggie opened the door of the cottage. “I hear a lot of goodbyes out here.” She was holding both babies. Emilie went to her and took Declan. “Now that I’ve got a free arm, I need a hug.”
Edna and Angus obliged, each taking a turn to hug Maggie and tell her and the babies how much they were loved.
“We’ll be back in the blink of an eye.” Edna wiped away more tears before taking the arm Angus offered her and leaving Glendaloch behind—for now.

William satin the window of their flat eyeing them with kitty disdain. Angus opened the door and Edna hurried in, happy to see William and wanting to pick him up and shower him with love.
William on the other hand let her know exactly what he thought of that. He hopped down from the window and with his tail straight up in the air, walked out of the room without even a rub on her legs.
“I think he’s upset,” Edna said.
“What gave ye that idea?” Angus chuckled. “It’s good to be home. I cannae wait to sleep in me own bed tonight.”
“I’m going to get cleaned up and changed and then I’ll head to the office to tell the council about our trip.”
“I’ll see if I can talk some sense into William,” Angus said. “It looks like our lovely neighbor brought us some groceries.”
“How sweet of her,” Edna said. “We’ll have to invite her over for dinner.”
“No’ tonight.”
“Nae, of course no’. Tomorrow night would be better if she can make it.”
Edna bustled about the flat. She tried talking to William, but he wasn’t budging. He’d come around. There was nothing unusual about his behavior. She put on some clean clothes, brushed and fixed her hair, replacing the blue streak which was her signature look and headed off to The Council of Witches.
“You’ve been gone quite some time,” Melusina said when she entered the office.
“Hello to ye, too,” Edna said feeling a bit peevish at the greeting she’d received.
“Welcome back,” Daire said, motioning her to come sit by her desk.
“Where’s Mardella?” Edna asked.
“She’s handling some problems in London. She’ll be back once she’s done,” Melusina said, pulling up a chair next to Edna.
“So, tell us all about yer mission,” Daire said.
“There’s a lot to tell, but the first thing I need to say is that from now on I’ll facilitate me own time travel.”
Melusina was taken aback, “Why? Was there a problem?”
“Ye sent me back to the right time, but we ended up in this verra close. Angus and I had to find a way to get to Paris that wasnae going to take a month or longer.”
Melusina exchanged a look with Daire. “Good to ken. From now on, time travel will be left up to ye.”
“Thank ye for understanding. Emilie Toussaint and Robert MacMillan are now married and since it dinna seem practical for them to stay in their own time, they traveled back to Glendaloch with us. They will stay at me inn with me niece and her husband.”
“I dinna ken that was part of the plan. I thought ye were just going to help Emilie make her wish come true.”
