“I’d like to visit as long as we’re here,” Angus said.

“Look Angus, it’s Teddy!” She waved at a young man who was waving at them and running their way.

“Edna! Ye’re back,” Teddy said.

“We are. How are ye, Teddy?”

“Well. Would ye like me to take yer horses?” he asked.

“Werenae we lucky ye were right close by,” Edna said. She dismounted and handed the reins to Teddy.

As the others dismounted, Teddy took their horses as well.

“Teddy, this is Robert MacMillan and Emilie Toussaint. They’ll be living here at the inn,” Edna explained.

“A pleasure to meet ye,” Teddy said.

“Tell Mrs. McDougall I’ll be by to see me horse soon and let her ken that Robert here will likely want to come by to ride.”

“I’ll be sure to tell Mrs. McDougall.”

“I’d like that,” Robert said.

Once Teddy was headed off, Angus opened the door to the inn and ushered them inside.

“Maggie!” Edna called.

A very pregnant Maggie waddled out of the office. It took a moment for it to register what she was seeing. Once she did, she ran toward Edna and Angus, who engulfed her in a hug.

“Please doona run, dear,” Edna said.

“Ye’re here!” Maggie shouted.

“I told ye we’d arrive as soon as we could. We wanted to be here for ye and Dylan when the babies arrived.”

“Ye’re just in time. Any day now,” she said, glancing at Robert and Emilie.

“We’re also here because we thought ye might need some help. Robert and Emilie are new arrivals from the seventeenth century.”

“I gathered as much. Emilie’s dress gave her away.” Maggie smiled warmly at the couple. “Welcome. We’re happy to have ye here with us. I’m Maggie.”

“Robert MacMillan and Emilie Toussaint,” Robert said.

“I thought that while they get their bearings, they could do some of the things ye and Dylan normally do. That way ye can enjoy the babies.”

“That would be amazing,” Maggie said. “Dylan! He should be in the kitchen.”

“I’m right here,” Dylan said, emerging from the dining room.

“Edna! Angus! This is a pleasant surprise.” Dylan hugged each of them.

“They’ve brought some guests with them. This is Robert MacMillan and Emilie Toussaint. They’re here from the seventeenth century.”

“They are officially time travelers,” Edna said.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Dylan said. “Are you hungry? I’m making some barbecue ribs on the grill out back, corn on the cob and potato salad. All of Maggie’s favorites.”

“I think they might be yer favorites,” Maggie teased. “These babies are taking up so much room that I cannae eat a big meal these days.”
