It was unlike anything I’d expected. It was intense, feral, a meeting of lips and tongues that stole my breath away. I watched as they swayed together, their bodies pressing close, Aurora’s fingers tangled in Lucifer's light locks. Oblivious to the audience they had before them. If anything, it only added to the debauchery of their lust. The guards turned their backs. At least they had some sense of decency...unless this show was just for me.

A low growl emanated from Lucifer’s chest, the sound echoing like a war drum in the silence. He reciprocated with equal fervor, his hands firm on her waist.

The questions, however, faded under the onslaught of an undeniable truth.

She wanted him. And he... he wanted her too. He wanted to own her.

Their unrestrained passion left a bitter taste in my mouth. The echo of their shared moans bounced off the stone walls, each one a sharp arrow to my already bleeding heart.

The air between them crackled, a powerful force field of raw desire that was almost palpable. The world seemed to tilt, the ground beneath me giving way to the raw pain flooding my senses.

I watched, entranced and devastated, as Lucifer pulled her closer.

Aurora fingered the buttons of his coat. Her fingers traced lower, down his chest, pulling an audible growl from him. That sound resonated within me, a resounding, haunting echo of possession that rattled my core.

A shiver of disgust washed over me, churning my stomach as I saw Lucifer lean into her touch, his eyes closed and lips parted in obvious pleasure. The room felt too tight, too small, each second stretching into an eternity of torment as I saw the woman I loved lavishing her affections on this... this beast.

"Well, Bennett," Lucifer began, his voice dripped with a malevolent sweetness that made my stomach churn. "It seems that in your desperate attempt to play the hero, you've only succeeded in being the fool. After all, charging into Hell to save a damsel who appears rather comfortable in her distress? Not exactly the stuff of legends, is it?"

Jealousy rolled through me.

Aurora stepped closer, pressing herself against him, ignoring the barb Lucifer had thrown my way, her curves molding into his unyielding body. My chest tightened, and my breath hitched as I saw Lucifer’s hand glide lower, skimming the curve of her hip before settling on her thigh, his fingers digging in possessively.

A low grunt vibrated through Lucifer’s chest as he pulled her closer.

Her soft moan filled the room as Lucifer’s hand moved higher, his touch hidden beneath her dress. I could see the flicker of surprise in her eyes at his boldness, quickly replaced by a hunger that cut me deeper than any blade.

My throat tightened, my vision blurring as the scene unfolded before me. This was wrong. So wrong.

She arched her back into his touch, utterly oblivious to my presence.

I tried tugging on the bond, but her side seemed cemented by an impenetrable concrete wall.

His arm moved in and out. I could imagine so clearly how he felt the warmth of Aurora's heat amongst her slick folds. Lucifer growled at her mewls as she clutched his suit jacket, then his forearms.

Her body bowed against his embrace, pushing her chest firmly against his.

He captured her mouth in a fiery kiss as she reached her climax. She sunk loosely into his arms.

Seeing her do that in front of me was a betrayal I didn’t know I could come back from. All of this was so fucked up.

Lucifer stepped away from her, looking calm and unaffected. The heat and passions that had flamed within him moments earlier cooled like magma. “If I wanted a common whore for a bride, I could have easily arranged that.”

Aurora’s mouth formed a small ‘o’.

My eyebrows drew together. What was going on?

I tried to poke holes through the barrier she had erected between us in the bond. Aurora leaned against the throne she had been sitting on.

“I don’t?—”

“Allow me to clarify,” Lucifer said. He stepped down the remaining steps until he was level with me and the guards. “The night of the ball, when we had a visit from our unsuspecting guest, I told you, ‘There is nothing that happens in my realm that I don’t know about. You’d do wise to remember that.' Do you remember?”

Aurora’s audible swallow echoed around the room.

“I’ll take that as a yes. You were brought here against your will. Aurora, I am many things. An idiot is not one of them. Do you honestly think I’d fall for your flirtatious advances, flattering comments, heated gazes, or passionate moments? All in an attempt to get close to me. Though, I must say it was great fun to watch you realize that that desire you had to manifest in the beginning was there regardless of what you thought of me. You’ll learn here that there is a fine line between fury and lust.”

“Is that not the reason I’m here?” she challenged.
