“I hope that isn’t the room Sienna will be sleeping in because that bed would need to be burned,” Allie says, her voice low and dark, as if just the thought was a crime.

“None of your business.” Jayce frowns.

Heaven smiles slightly, and I feel my cheeks heat up knowing exactly what she means.

“So, you’re Alessandra Rossi, right?” Ian says, looking at Allie.

She simply casts him a deadpan glance before she turns to Jayce. “We’ll switch out the mattress then. Sienna is not sleeping on that.”

He ignores her and looks at me. “Brock will get the room cleared out in the next twenty minutes.” With that, he turns and re-enters the room he had come out of, slamming the door behind him.

This is sure going to be fun.

“Sorry, with all the shit going on, everything got delayed. But come on, sit down, all of you,” Bruce says. “Tea? Coffee? Hot Chocolate?”

“No, thank you,” Heaven declines the offer. “We have lessons, and with the deadlines of moving today, we just thought we’d help drop Sienna’s stuff off. Maybe next time.”

“Yeah,” Allie says as she looks at me, about to walk right past me, when she leans in. “Make sure they change the mattress.”

I watch as they both leave, suddenly feeling alone again.

 “Is Shahira here?” I ask.

“She dropped a few bags off about ten minutes ago, and then all of that shit show went down, and she left and didn’t return,” Ian responds, scratching his chin. Something tells me he loves drama.

Oh… hopefully that means she’ll be back soon.

Artemis and Brock return after a short while, and Artemis doesn’t look as angry as before. In fact, her bruised lips hint that Brock cheered her up in just the right way.

“Hey, sorry you had to hear all that,” she says apologetically. “I just don’t get why Jayce couldn’t share, but I’m not complaining anymore. Welcome.”

“Thank you…” I say, feeling awkward after seeing that.

“The room is clean; we didn’t really take much there. I’ve stripped the bedding.” Artemis smiles at me. “Can you guys get up and help take her stuff in, and what Shahira dropped off? Where’s Renji?”

“Being a helpful prick,” Ian snickers.

“We’ve been blessed or cursed with two Westwoods, depending on how you look at it. And when I say they’re worlds apart, I mean it,” Bruce adds.

“You know she knows them, right?” Artemis says. “She’s a Rossi.”

“Sorry, I forget that with how she acts,” Bruce says apologetically, although the smirk on his face says he still finds it amusing.

“It’s fine, excuse me.” I head towards the room where Brock is already taking things inside. Like Artemis said, it’s clean.

It’s slightly bigger than the room I was sharing with Anna, but what I like the most is the partition that hides the bed areas from one another.

“You unpack, I’ll have everything brought in,” Brock says, giving me a small smile.

“Thanks.” I offer him a small smile back as I get to work. This is where I’ll be staying for the next few years… I look around, taking in the beige walls, the black floors, and the sharp-edged design of the bed and furniture.

Last night’s events return, and I sigh softly. Himari didn’t say anything, even though she looked annoyed to see me.

An hour later, I’m pretty much unpacked, although there’s a lot to put into place. Our room is right beside Jayce’s.

Shahira’s back as well; currently she’s organising her side. We work in pleasant silence, occasionally exchanging a word or two, but mostly my ears are on the room outside.

I can hear them talking, and I had left the door open a tiny crack, just so I could get the feel of those around me by listening to them.
