“That’s true.”

At the insistence of my mother and Gigi, we hosted a very quaint renewal of vows ceremony, so Talon could live out his dream of seeing me walk down the aisle to him in a white dress, and a reception to celebrate our marriage. It was mostly locals from Ashfield and a few of Talon and Gigi’s family, including his aunt, Kate, and his cousin, Delilah. No one had heard from Charles Jr. since his father was arrested.

On my ring finger, Talon replaced the oversized princess-cut diamond with an antique-looking setting that held a marque. It was perfectly my style. We donated the previous ring to an auction where the proceeds went to supporting children of farmers and their education. Something that was near and dear to me, since, after losing my job, my grant proposal had been denied. When I refused to spend more of the money Talon sent after I signed the contract, nor accept the rest of the million after six months came and went, he surprised me with a scholarship fund named in my honor, using the same stipulations I put into place for the much smaller one I created when I first got home from Miami.

With a wicked grin, I told him that was an acceptable way to spend my hard-earned money.

“So, what do you say, wife? Think we can sneak back to our house, where I can spend the rest of the night showing you how much I love you?”

Even though I was still sore from our earlier escapade, my pussy clenched in yearning at his sweet words. I twirled myself off his lap and stood beside the chair. I grabbed my jacket and purse, then held my hand out for Talon.

“Goodnight, everyone,” I said without a second thought as Talon placed his hand in mine. Talon laughed as I pulled him through the crowd toward the exit, and the cool, spring air smacked me in the face as we stepped outside.

“Eager much?” Talon asked as I reached our SUV—owned, not rented. My car was parked at Franny’s house, where we spent the morning getting ready.

“For you? Always,” I replied honestly.

The drive home to our little house was unbearable. We were still a month away from our custom build being finished, so we weren’t nearly as close to the venue as we would’ve been if our new house were complete. Draco was waiting by the door when we arrived, and we both bent down to stroke his soft fur.

“So, wife,” Talon began as he unbuttoned his suit jacket. God, I loved that man in a suit. “How do you want it?”

The lamp in the corner barely illuminated the room, but it made my soft periwinkle dress glow. I slowly stepped toward Talon, slipping each thin strap down my arms as I approached.

“Do you remember the day you came to Ashfield and broke into my house?”

“I didn’t break in,” he added as he began unbuttoning his shirt while toeing off his shoes. “I had a key.”

“Do you remember what you caught me doing?”

His eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store as he nodded.

“Well, what I’d really like…,” I purred as my dress slipped down my body into a pool of material on the floor. I stood before him, wearing only a pair of lace panties. “…is for you to obey your wife tonight.”

In a flash, I was flipped over Talon’s shoulders as he sprinted on socked feet toward my bedroom. I landed with a plop on the bed, and his body instantly covered mine.

“Are you ready to play, husband?”

“Show me what’ve you got, wife.”
