“I don’t know what you mean bruv.” Then he throws his head back and laughs.
“Now I know you’re talking shit.”
“Alright, there is someone, but she’s completely different to my usual sort.”
I can’t believe what I’m hearing. “When did this happen?”
His face lights up. “Last week.” He can’t stop grinning. “I’m not saying any more at the minute, so stop asking.”
“Oh don’t worry, I’ve stopped. I’m not sure I want to know any more at this stage. There’s still time for you to fuck it up.” I grin then notice, straight away, a glint in his eye. Fucking hell, I think he’s really into whoever she is.
“So, do you want the use of my cab or not?” he asks, jolting me back to his original offer.
This is a chance to remind Victoria why she agreed to go out with me the other night. “You’re on. But if you fuck this up—”
He holds up his hands. “I won’t. Trust me.”
He’s serious this time and let’s face it, if I turn him down I also turn down the chance to spend time with her. As that’s my one and only aim right now, I shake him by the hand.
“Okay mate, you’re on.”
“Cool bananas,” he winks.
