“I know it.” I touched my heart. “With a certainty.”
“I feel a connection, too.” She swallowed. “Sometimes it scares me.” She sipped her hot cocoa and held onto the mug with both hands.
“What about that scares you?”
She sighed. “The label, for one.”
“We don’t need to use it,” I assured her.
She picked up the M. “Maybe we can make it an acronym. Something that isn’t so forever sounding.”
“Okay,” I replied, amused. “Like what?” I took a sip of my drink. The cool whipped cream countered the hot spicy chocolate. A perfect combo.
“Most Awesome, Terrific, Exquisite.”
I laughed. “That makes as much sense as some of the lyrics I’ve heard you sing.” Gianna often sang in the shower. Typically, it was nonsense, but it was one of the most endearing things I loved about her—especially as she sang them in her beautiful voice.
“Okay, you come up with something, Shakespeare.” She handed me the bag of letters.
“Hmm, let’s see.” I sifted through the letters and spelled out words down from each letter.
“Make Amazing Torrid Ecstasy?” she read. “You think that’s an improvement?”
“Well, it makes more sense.”
“How so?”
“The sex is incredible.”
She nodded. “I agree.”
“Magical,” I added. “When you bond with your mate, it’s supposed to be this mystical experience.”
“Are you talking about the mating bite?”
“Yes. I heard it’s the most amazing sex of your life.”
“Ooh, magical sex?” She stroked my thigh and chuckled. “Why didn’t you tell me that from the beginning? That sounds more pleasurable than the painful bite I’ve been envisioning.”
I worked with the letters to spell out Magical Amazing Torrid Encounter. “Better?”
“Indeed. We’re getting there.”
I searched her eyes. “Does that mean—you want to?”
Gianna exhaled. “I’m getting more comfortable with the idea.” She grinned. “The promise of magical sex is quite enticing.” She cocked her head. “Are you okay with waiting?”
“For the woman I love? Of course,” I replied.
Her eyes widened with wonder. “You love me?”
“I do,” I declared. “With all my heart and soul. I love you, Gianna.” I took her hand and kissed it.
She beamed. “I love you, too.” She sighed. “I don’t want to blow this. What we have is indeed magical.”
“No pressure, no rush.” Raising my chin, I added, “Besides, the greater the buildup, the greater the reward.”
Her lips curled into a sensual smile. “I like how you think, my sexy wolf.” She stroked down my cheek. “My mate.”
