Nova and I attempted to solve the puzzle, but time ran out.

“Oh, well.” I shrugged.

We left the room.

“We can try again,” Sebastian suggested with an enthusiastic gleam in his eye.

I hooked my arm through his and grinned. “I think it’s best we let this one go.”

He nodded. “You’re probably right.”

After an hourof fun and sometimes frustrating challenges, we moved on to a dinner and comedy show. This was Sebastian and Diego’s suggestion as they were both fans of stand-up comedy.

More snow had fallen, sticking to the trees and giving them a magical look. Without wind, the cool temperature wasn’t bad. I stuck my tongue out and caught some snowflakes on my tongue.

Sebastian moaned and leaned close to my ear. “Don’t do that,” he whispered. “It turns me on.”

I stuck my tongue out again and then laughed, flirting again.

Once we entered the club, we ordered food. It was a pub-style menu, so nothing like Sebastian’s fine dining from the other night, but still good and hearty. We shared a variety of appetizers, including nachos and buffalo chicken, and pitchers of margaritas and beer.

Several comedians came out over the course of the evening, and we were soon laughing more than eating. Sebastian put his arm behind me as we watched. I leaned against him.

When the show ended, we headed back to the car to return to Salem. I couldn’t believe our outing was already coming to an end.

“The whole night went by so fast,” I said. “We should do this again.”

“Absolutely,” Sebastian agreed. Nova and Diego echoed the statement.

Sebastian drove to my house first. That made sense as they lived together, but it meant I had to say goodbye.

Too bad he didn’t invite me home with him. Was he taking a gentleman’s approach again? It was starting to drive me crazy.

“Sebastian, can you walk me through the door?” I asked.

“Of course.”

As we walked from the parking space to my townhouse, I sensed how close he walked. Sensual tension simmered between us. When his fingers brushed mine, I exhaled.

Once we were out of earshot at my front door, I bent forward and kissed his cheek. “Why don't you come back here after you drop them off?”

When I pulled back, Sebastian's eyes gleamed with excitement. “I’ll be back as fast as I can.”

Once I entered and closed the door behind me, I plopped on the sofa and played music. How much time would I have to kill before he returned? I might as well freshen up while I waited. I headed into the bathroom. I’d just about finished up when the bell rang.

Who would that be? I wasn’t expecting anyone but Sebastian, but he wouldn’t be back so soon.

I glanced out the peephole. It was him. The excitement that rose was surprising, but I threw the door open.

“How did you get back already?”

He flashed a devilish grin. “I told them to take the car.”

I pulled him inside and shut the door. “Smart.”

He peered down at me. “One of them can pick me up. Or, if you wouldn’t mind giving me a ride home later.”

I tipped my head and gave him a suggestive smile. “How about I give you a ride now? And then a ride home tomorrow morning?”
