“Where would you find the Sea of Tranquility?” Diego asked Lucas.
He pointed upstairs. “My bed, of course.”
We all groaned at that one except for Lucas, who grinned a mile wide.
“What color is absinthe?” Nova asked Gianna.
“The color of regret,” she replied in a deadpan voice that got her laughs and another turn.
“What’s the body’s largest organ?” Gianna asked me.
I arched one brow. “Do you have to ask?”
Diego grunted. Nova moaned and shook her head. Lucas chuckled. Gianna laughed, which was the only reaction that mattered.
From that point on, the answers often had a naughty edge. Gianna often exchanged glances with me. This strange, fun flirtation turned me on, and I hoped I wouldn’t sport wood during the game.
Once Diego sort of won the game by ending up in the middle spot, Lucas said, “I’m heading out. I have a date soon.”
“A date?” I repeated. “It’s almost eleven. Sounds more like a booty call.”
“Potato, po-tah-to.” Lucas helped put away the game. “Toodles. Don’t wait up for me.”
Nova put her hand down on Diego’s thigh. “I’m ready to go unwind myself. I have an appointment at the Network tomorrow morning and want to make sure I get enough sleep.”
A detective from the Network had recognized Nova’s magical talent after she’d taken down a demon who’d kidnapped Gianna. I’d heard about the encounter but hadn’t met Gianna until the night at the club. Now, just thinking of anyone bringing any distress to Gianna stirred me with rage.
Nova stood, and Diego followed. “I’ll come over with you.”
Gianna met my gaze. Within a minute or so, it was just the two of us left alone in my apartment. A naughty glimmer sparkled in her eyes.
I was almost quivering with need by this point, and my wolf was nipping at the forefront with his now insistent chant—claim her.
Gianna’s luscious lips curled into a knowing grin. It was too much of an invitation for me to resist. In the next heartbeat, we lunged for each other, tumbling back onto the couch. All the yearning that I’d been suppressing erupted as I caressed her body and kissed her.
She sighed a decadent moan against my lips. How I wanted to hear those sounds from her night after night.
I’d have to be content with what she gave me so I wouldn’t waste this moment. I kissed her face and caressed her breasts. Ready to undress her right here and take her on the couch, a sliver of reason rose through the lust. Diego or Lucas could return at any time.
“Let’s go to my room,” I suggested.
“Yes,” she agreed with a saucy smile and ran for the stairs.
I chased her, desire running rampant, and grabbed her ass. She giggled and headed into my room, turning to me with hunger burning bright in her eyes. I closed the door and reached for her, my greedy hands clutching at her sensuous curves.
Within seconds, we shed our clothes and discarded them to the rug. We tumbled onto my bed, kissing and touching and licking. I rubbed my hands all over her soft skin, craving the touch of my mate that had haunted me with an ever-increasing desperation since we’d met.
Fierce need ignited inside as the fire rose. I explored every inch of her, running my hands and lips down her lush body. Her pleasure was more paramount than my own. When I brought her to a climax that left her quivering and gasping for breath, it heightened my hunger.
I buried myself inside her, slipping into this sweet ecstasy. Rocking with increasing thrusts, the pressure intensified, and with it, the raging instinct to claim my fated mate.
Once again, I ignored that urgency before I exploded with a ferocity that left me spellbound.
As we recovered, my senses slowly returned. One night with Gianna hadn’t been enough.
Two had only fueled my appetite for her.
And now, this third time, I knew with a certainty what my wolf had been telling me, and I’d been struggling to ignore. Gianna was my mate, the only one for me, and nothing would ever change that.
