“Let’s head back out to the party,” Nebula urges. “With our actual dessert this time.”
“You fuckers,” Nexus hisses as soon as he sees us. He’s sitting at the table with Bea’s family, his hands carefully crossed over his lap and a pout on his lips. Omen wipes the look away when she kisses him, sliding her tongue into his mouth so he can have a taste of our fun too. “I’m still salty.”
“We have an eternity together, Alpha,” Omen reminds him. “There will be more sneaky fun in the future, promise.”
“Damn straight there will be.” He winks. His arm wraps around her ass, making her crash into his lap. Red tints her cheeks, but she settles against his chest. “You’re ours now, gorgeous. Like you were always meant to be.”
CHAPTER FORTY-TWO
Two Months Later
Now Playing: The Summoning- Sleep Token
Cold, biting air blows through the streets as we pile out of the venue and into the waiting SUV. We’re back in Chicago for the first stop of Primordial Covenant’s winter express tour.
The guy’s latest album released last month, and their popularity exploded. Several songs went viral, reaching the top of the charts as each single was released. This tour sold out in under twenty four hours. It’s been wild and I could not be prouder of them.
“Fuck, why didn’t we wait for summer,” Nexus whines, rubbing his hands together to warm himself back up.
I yelp, nearly jumping out of my seat when frigid skin presses against the back of my neck. Fucking Nebula grins beside me, pulling me close so he can press his icy lips to mine. Their masks are tucked in the box at his feet now that we are safely covered by the vehicle’s tinted windows.
“Because we didn’t want to sweat our balls off all of July like we did last year?” Titan grunts from the middle seats. He’s wrapped in a thick sweatshirt and a wool hat, but I can still see the damp tips of his hair where it got sweat-soaked during the show.
They were even more mesmerizing than usual. Perhaps feeling my arousal in our bond spurred them on, adding a sensual, dark undertone to each of their songs, new and old.
Digging my phone out of my pocket, I text Bea sharing a few of the pictures I took when we arrived in the city this morning. Most of my messages from the past week are still unread, so I try to call her but she still doesn’t answer.
“What’s wrong, starlight?” Callisto asks from the seat up front of us.
“I haven’t heard from Bea in over a week.” I frown, glancing back at my phone. Maybe I should call her parents?
“Orbital Somatic was touring again with the bands traveling for the charity shows,” he points out. “She may be busy with work.”
“If she doesn’t respond over the weekend, we’ll call Acherley. Or her parents,” Nebula promises. I nod, leaning my head against his chest. I’m worried about her, but he’s right. There isn’t much I can do right now. And she could be busy with work, though that has never stopped her from responding before.
We’re staying in the same hotel as their tour last summer. Where we ate spicy gummies and sour candy, played board games, and cuddled the night away. Tonight will be much of the same, but this time I don’t have to hold back. They see all of me, have tasted every flavor of my personality, and they love me for it.
Pulling up to the familiar white stone building, I don’t try to hide my smile. There is so much in my life to be happy about these days, my guys are just the best of them all.
Taking Callisto’s hand, I drag him along beside me as I run into the building to escape the wintery air. We’re laughing and slightly out of breath when our alphas catch up to us.
“Okay, gorgeous,” Nexus grins as he walks closer, caging me against the wall. “I’m fucking starving.” Mischief fills his mocha eyes, matching the alluring way his tongue darts across his lower lip. Perfume bursts around us, making his eyes darken in response. “Pizza or burgers?” he growls.
“What?” I ask dumbly. He wants to know what I want to eat?
“For dinner, starlight,” Callisto chuckles beside me.
“Oh, uh, burgers I guess.” I’m so fucking confused. Or maybe I’m turned on and projecting my desires onto my mates.
“Head on up to the room, babygirl. We’ll grab food and be right up to join you.”
I narrow my eyes at Nebula when he hands me our room key. They’re acting suspicious as hell right now, sending me up to our room alone. In a hotel full of strangers and without any of the security team. I take several steps toward the elevator, glancing back to see if one of them will join me, but they only wave me on.
Definitely sus.
The ride up seems to take forever as I try to search their bonds for a clue about what they are up to. They’re all locked down tight though, so I only get the faint hints of excitement bleeding through. These men love surprising me, so I could be in for literally anything.
Closing the room to our pack suite behind me, I decide to even the odds. Stripping off my clothes one layer at a time, I leave a trail of discarded fabric from the entrance to the bedroom.
