“She went to Lux.” That much I know for certain. And, despite her exorbitant price, there is a good chance the madame purchased other females as well.
“Lux.” Anna’s blue eyes grow wide as she turns to Rovos. “That’s the brothel Volethos tried to take me to, right?”
Rovos nods, and she turns back to face me. “So that’s where you’re going, right?” She leans forward, her eyes focused on mine through the screen. “You’re going to save them?”
“Yes.”How I’m going to actually do that hasn’t been worked out, but I’m confident I’ll think of something.
Rovos’ arms curl around her, and he gently eases her back against him, tucking her cheek against his shoulder. “Good,” she says with a nod.
“I’ll set a course for Lux, and we’ll meet you there as soon as we can,” Rovos says. “In the meantime, talk to Sone.”
My gut clenches at the thought of bringing Sone into this, but at the same time I know I’ll need him. I’ll need all the help I can get if I’m going to pull off a kidnapping from Lux.
I’ve heard stories of males trying, after falling in love with a female. But none have ever succeeded. Except for one, but in all likelihood that’s nothing more than a story.
“Let me know if anything changes,” Rovos says, curling around his mate as he types at the control center. “I’ll see you in a few rotations.”
I nod as the screen goes blank. With a long sigh, I deflate into my seat as an ache starts in the center of my chest at the thought of comming Sone. Maybe it can wait a bit longer? I should probably have some kind of plan in place first.
