That had not been the truth.
She recalled the Russian saying the minute a black ops team entered, opening any door would trip an alert to the Russian’s phone. A green light would flash on the wall Hallene stared at, which would indicate a timer on the bomb had been activated with enough time for the team to be deep inside when it blew.
With Cyclops now heading for her, she had a choice. If she clued him in that his time alive was dwindling, he’d attack her with all he had. She’d die before him, then he’d likely escape alive.
Not acceptable.
He paused and clicked the wires together again.
She arched an eyebrow and stared him down.
He lost his smile.
That was the opening she needed. “I know my death is going to suck, but you should get done and not be late contacting your boss.”
“I control time,” he snarled.
“Nope, your boss does. I’m not sharing a thing so you might as well kill me now. At least you don’t have time to rape me. Every dark cloud has its silver lining, right?”
His brow wrinkled with an obvious question. He was too stupid to realize she’d insulted him.
He stood there debating if he should torture her now and possibly kill her or if he should rape her first while she was lucid.
Tough question for so little mental capacity.
She’d done as Coop taught her and kept her mind locked on defeating Cyclops. She was not going down without a fight.
She had an idea.
Just thinking of a plan helped, even a bad one.
Time to sell it no matter how much bile ran up her throat. She let her legs dangle open, drawing his gaze to her triangle of blond curls.
Disgust rolled through her in waves, but she had only one play. “If you don’t grow a pair of cojones and do something soon, your amigos will know you didn’t touch me. They’re watching all this on video. They’ll wonder if you even like girls or if your dick was too short to reach.”
She hadn’t found a camera down here, but Cyclops’ head spun from side to side searching.
Ha! Made you look. Juvenile thought, but it kept her positive.
Hands shaking with fury, he bared his teeth and threw down the wires, decision made.
She swallowed hard, praying she had a chance. Even a small one was better than just giving in.
