He’d already undone the buttons of his pants by the time I’d regained my senses. He pulled me to the edge, my skin dipping under the firm grasp of his fingertips, and he sank himself deep inside me, our magic erupting at the joining of our souls, the bond exploding between us.

“Fuck,” he moaned as every inch of him filled me. “You were fucking made for me.”

I grabbed onto him as he drove himself into me, harder and harder, the wave I’d already been riding shattering around me. His name left my lips on a breathy moan, and the flames around us doused, plunging us into darkness as he joined me with his own groan of pleasure. He slammed into me again and again, his muscles cording and winding tight under my fingers as I grasped onto him. My thoughts scattered as he pulled my hips up to meet his deep thrusts, and my back bowed, chest pressing against his, my toes curling.

He came, his head falling against my shoulder as his body spasmed and tightened.

I held him against me, felt his chest heave, his heart pound, sweat rolling down his skin. He lifted his head to rest his forehead to mine, those beautiful eyes locking with mine. I smiled, air flooding and escaping my lungs in short bursts as I tried to regain control, muscles shivering as the orgasm echoed through every inch of my body.

“I am yours, mea luna,” he panted, pure adoration gleaming in his eyes.

My chest swelled, my soul humming in response to his words.

“And I am yours,mea sol.”

CASSIE

There was a knock at the front door, and Damien and I perked up at the dining table where we were finishing breakfast.

“Is that Kat?” Damien asked as I pushed myself up from my chair.

“Yeah,” I said, wincing as my swollen feet protested the movement.

“I’ll get it,mea luna. You relax,” Damien offered.

I smiled but lifted my hand. “I’m all right, mea sol. I feel good today. Besides, we’re going for a walk. I need to get the blood flowing.”

He’d gotten me some compression socks the day before, and they were helping tremendously, the swelling not as severe as it had been.

Kat wrapped her arms around me as I let her inside, and I winced at the tenderness in my back, my shoulder blades still healing.

“Cody’s gonna join us for the walk, if that’s okay with you,” she said. “The park website said there’s been a lot of wolf activity lately, something about a pack moving across from a nearby reserve. I wanted to make sure we had someone to trip so you and I could get away.”

I chuckled as Cody stepped through the door, giving her a sideways glance. “I’m here and ready to be sacrificed.”

It felt strange to see Cody. The last time I’d seen him, I thought he was human. To know now that he was half immortal just felt odd. I wondered if I’d get a chance to talk to him alone, get to know him, without the guise of mortality.

“Are you ready to go?” Kat asked, a wide grin forming on her face.

“Yeah.”

Damien appeared at my back, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me against him. I giggled as he nuzzled against my cheek. Kat smiled warmly at me, and I briefly met her gaze.

“You guys have fun. Call me if you need anything,” he said, his warmth enveloping me.

“We’ll be in the car,” Kat said as her and Cody headed outside.

“You’re going to be working with James today, right?” I asked, turning in his arms so I could press against his chest.

“Yeah, I’ll have my phone on me, though, so if you need me at all just call,” he said as he pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Promise me you’ll take it slow today.”

He released me so I could slide my boots on. “I will. We’re going to the Ghost Town Trail. I haven’t been there in a while, but I’m excited to get out and see the forest again.”

“Are you bringing your sketchbook?” he asked as I grabbed my bag from the table near the stairway.

I smiled, patting the bag as I pulled it over my shoulder, sketchbook and graphite already stowed away inside. “You know it.”
