Fuck.
I acted. Shot the slime I held at gunpoint and ducked down. I rolled on the ground to slip behind a crate and peeked out as I let off round after round.
I had Saint’s back. One shot. Two shots. Three.Bam. Bam. Bam.I hit those motherfuckers square in the back of the head.
Perfect aim.
Saint took down two men with only one bullet. Damn, he was good.
The addictive smell of gunpowder gave off the same aroma of fireworks launching off into the dead of night. Adrenaline ran through my veins, the rush heated my cool lifelines, and I stared death straight in the face. I didn’t blink an eye. One wrong move, and the action would stop. I had no time to think; I could only act as the savage beast I was always meant to be. A killing machine set out to exact revenge on all who wronged our girl.
A bullet zipped past my head. Shit. Close call. My hair moved with that one.
Time to engage. I shot back twice at the enemy. One hit a shoulder. He recoiled in pain, but before he could reach the bullet wound, the second shot pierced his brain. Blood splattered out the back of his head, proving the shot went straight through.
Hell yeah!
I burned with rage, like a dragon breathing flames and slaughtering everything in its path. We wanted Liv back, and we’d fight for her while holding nothing back. We aimed directly at their heads as they sprang back, leaving their bodies lifeless.
I lost count after ten, but we needed one of these Pitrone fuckers alive to talk or else our plan would blow to hell. We already stepped through the gates of eternal damnation, and since Liv’s abduction, we’ve lived tirelessly in a fiery pit. She was stolen right out from underneath us, and we needed payback.
I’d give anything to hear our missing piece’s voice again, “Sin!”
Liv?
No. My mind played a cruel, sickening trick. I was a twisted fuck, after all.
I jumped out and fired off a shot.Fuck.I was out of bullets.
I crouched down behind another crate, and steady hands reloaded my weapon.
“Saint!”
There Liv was again. The sound of her voice echoed in my head, beating into my brain.Jesus.As fucked up as I was, I wasn’t crazy. Maybe this was a form of self-torture for losing her in the first place—her loss was too traumatizing, and I was on the brink of insanity.
Hell no.
The thought was almost laughable as I held my breath and listened to the returning gunfire. One, two, three, four, five, six. The enemy was out. He was reloading his weapon, and it was time for me to take action.
As I ran, firing wildly, I made direct hits. I couldn’t stop, didn’t bat an eye until I saw a black-haired beauty with blond highlights as bright as a freaking goddess. I halted, frozen in my tracks.
Liv stared back at me, wide-eyed and in Pitrone’s vile hands. She was right in front of me. Only a short distance separated us. My heart beat erratically. My brain was all screwed up at the sight of her.
“Sin!” Liv cried out again.
Itwasour girl. Livwasactually here. Alive in the flesh, and shewasn’tdead.
Not yet. Not on our watch.
“Liv!” Saint shouted to the right of me, but further back.
I had to get to Liv. This was our chance. Nothing would stop me from getting her back.
Saint fired. No shots hit the motherfucker who held Liv.Goddamn it!That son of the bitch held her in the way like a damn shield. I had to act fast.
“Saint! Sin! Help me!” Liv yelled for us, but some asshole pulled away.
The Pitrones fell back, retreating from the warehouse at record pace, and a vehicle pulled up.Fuck! No!
