I unlocked the door.

There was a small lineup to get into the room we had just fully indulged in the upmost confectionery experience anyone could ever have. The woman I loved came all over a giant two-pound peppermint candy stick. We smiled with goofy grins on our faces as we left the mess we made behind and heard the gasps from shocked customers as they wandered inside.

I paid for the mess in the room along with a used peppermint stick we had thoroughly enjoyed while I held Tinsley’s hand. The total came out to ten thousand dollars and some change for everything along with my satisfied wife whispering sorry with a small apologetic smile. But I couldn’t help noticing the cashier staring at the impressive hickey I had left on her cleavage, and I left with a big fucking grin while I walked my ass right out the door.

We stepped outside only to be bombarded by paparazzi, who I knew would make an appearance, but I didn’t give a shit. I was the happiest man on the fucking planet because I had her. All I needed was Tinsley, all I ever wanted was her, and my wife had saved me on more than one occasion. Her actions caused the ice around my frozen heart to melt. She rescued me from an abusive father who never gave a damn about me and only cared about himself. She jumped in front of a speeding bullet and safeguarded my soul. Tinsley Morgan freed me, and I’d love her for the rest of my life.

Questions swirled from one discussion to another. The crowd was loud and ready for their next story about us. I wanted to give them one hell of a headline and I waited for the right one.

A man got right up near my face with his camera and asked, “Taking the mommy-to-be out for a sweet treat, Mr. Morgan?”

Now was our time to shine.

“Yes, as a matter of fact, Mrs. Morgan had a craving and I did too, but I love my minty fresh wife more than anythingelse in this world,” I answered as I took a bite from the giant peppermint stick and flashed Tinsley a ridiculous grin.

My wife blushed brighter than ever. The camera flashed bright lights, and we got into the backseat of the limousine.
