“Just so you’re aware, I’ve received a barren rune from the Storm Dragon, Dante. So we don’t have to worry about Plan B yet. You know, for when we get to Plan B.”

If my love were a dragon, she’d be smoking. “Don’t count your chickens just yet! I’m not done.”

“Of course not, dearest. You’re doing great.” I said, giving her a thumbs up.

She peered over her pages to glare at me. “I hate you so much right now.”

I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, and winked at her. “You’re so cute when you’re mad.”

Sputtering, Brie raised the book high. “Oh, I could just throw this book at your head!”

A small chuckle escaped me. “Is that your love language? You seem to love throwing things at me.”

She batted her hand in my direction. “I’m ignoring you. Just stay in that chair and don’t move. This next one looks like a doozy.”

“But darling, my heart!” I teased, clutching at my chest. “I’ll die without your love and affection.”

“You’re gonna love my foot in your ass.” She whispered under her breath.

“What was that, Lamb?”

“Ignoring you!” She stomped to the center of her living room and planted her feet firmly. I watched as she bent her knees and began chanting again. This time, accompanying the singing with a little dance. Brie twirled and jumped, chanting her little heart out for a good few minutes. She was left bent over and panting when the spell was finally complete. A hopeful expression crossed her face as she looked back at me.

Just as I was about to spout off another confession of love, a tingle worked its way down my spine. It spread warmth throughout my body and gave me a strange sense of power. “Hold on,” I said, setting my glass down. “I think I feel something.”

“Really?” Her face brightened. She took a step toward me, only to be knocked off balance as the house rumbled. Paintings and woven ornaments fell from the walls as the ground shook. The scent of fear radiated from Brie as she stumbled amongst the chaos.

I jumped and ran to her, but when I reached my hand out, massive black tentacles erupted from the shadows of the room. Brie screamed as they wove around her and snatched her up. Her fluffy lavender robe fell open as a tentacle wrapped around her belly, while another grabbed her by the leg. They lurched her up, just out of reach, and stopped completely. “What the hell is this?” She cried.

Reaching out again, I noticed the tentacles followed the movement, bringing her closer to me. The strange feeling of power grew stronger.

Brie’s mouth fell open before her brows furrowed. “Son of a swan’s mistress, you can control them?”

As if in response, another tentacle trailed its way up the rich expanse of her thigh. My breath hitched as it squeezed around it, sinking into the soft cushions of her umber skin.

More.

I needed to see more. With the tie to her robe fallen away, my lamb’s body was on full display. From the lush expanse of her legs, to the valley of her breasts, to the tender nape of her neck. I swallowed and watched as a smaller tendril curved around her left breast before it gave a gentle flick against her nipple. The dark bud hardened and peeked under the soft ministrations.

Brie’s frustrated snarl shook me out of my thoughts. “Great!” She yelled. “This is just great. Of course, I’d fuck this up bad enough to summon a tentacle monster.” She snarled again and thrashed about, then sighed and went limp against the restraints.

I ran a hand over my eyes, trying to calm down. The beat of my heart was pounding in my ears. Yet all blood was directed firmly south.Get away from her. I need to get the hell away from her before I do something stupid.Ignoring every base instinct I had, I turned and took a step away from Brie.

My chest lurched, sending me to my knees. The pounding grew louder until all I could hear was the ferocious thump in my chest. It ripped at my insides like a thousand tiny needles. I dug my claws into the rug, desperate to fight off the urge to transform. My fangs elongated, and I snapped my mouth shut before she could see. The wolf form itched under my skin, ready to break free. All the while, my heart hammered away in my chest. Drowning all thoughts in the cacophony of beating drums.

Over the chaos, Brie’s scent called out to me like a beacon. Easing the madness with gentle encouragement to come closer. I did. Helpless to resist the siren’s call. My lamb looked so beautiful, even in her anger. A swarm of magic tentacles held the woman hostage, and yet she still managed an impassive glare. As if it was my fault, the spell failed. Maybe it was. Maybe my all-consuming lust for her willed this dream into life. I crawled closer, needing to bury my face in that scent. Surely a taste wouldn’t hurt. Just something small, to ease the ache.

“Is my beauty sending you into cardiac arrest?” Brie asked sarcastically.

It took a moment to remember how to form words. “Something like that.” I sat back on my haunches and the tendrils holding her up moved her closer. Until her exposed form was mere inches from my face. Swallowing, I let my eyes roam over the warmth of her skin. Down the silken valley of breasts, the soft curves of her stomach, until I greedily settled on her cunt. She squirmed a little under my gaze until the scent of her arousal hit me like a slap. The frantic beat of my heart picked up once more. Without thinking, I reached for her. “Brie.” I sighed, my hands just hovering over her hips. She was so close.Get up. Get up and get out.

She let out a breath and slumped against the restraints. “Alright. Plan B it is then.” I looked up, but she refused to meet my eye.

I must have heard wrong. “What did you say?”

Her lips pouted, and she kept her gaze anywhere but on me. “I can hear your heart beating like crazy. We tried the stupid book of spells, and it didn’t work. So we may as well go with Plan B.”

Instinct and reason raged a brutal war. Reason, being a cunning bitch, pulled the win out of thin air. “But you don’t want this? Lamb, I can hang on longer. I’m not touching you unless you want it.” It was hard. It was awful. But I dropped my hands away from her hips and fisted them at my sides.
