“Spike,” Glitter says happily. “Come meet our son.”

Her cheerfulness shocks me, and I’m at a loss as to what to say or do. Fortunately, Abyss has no such problem.

“Hey, Glitter,” he says as he reaches for the baby. “Why don’t you let me check him over and make sure he’s doing okay while you and Spike talk?”

She wrinkles her nose but nods. “Yeah. Okay.”

I breathe a sigh of relief as soon as my son is in Abyss’s arms.

“I’m gonna check him out to make sure he’s good to make it to the hospital,” he says as he rushes toward the medical wing.

I want to follow. Everything in me needs to be with my son right now, but I force my attention on Glitter.

“You fucking bitch,” I snarl, grabbing her arm roughly and dragging her across the room. “I’m gonna end your miserable life.”

“Spike!” Soul shouts, and I halt. “Let us handle her. You’ve got more to worry about right now.”

“Not on your life,” I counter. “She’s mine to purge.”

“Yeah, great,” he says. “You can purge her. But not right this second.”

Glitter tries to look at me, but her movements are hampered by my grip. “What’s going on, Spike? I thought you’d be happy to see us.”

“You’re fucking delusional,” I spit out.

“But I got rid of that cunt so we could be together,” she whines. “We don’t have to sneak around anymore. We can be a family.”

“What the hell is she babbling about?” Rogue demands.

“Fuck if I know,” I reply. “Like I said… delusional.”

Glitter rips out of my grasp and straightens to her full height. I’ll give her this… she’s got no fear.

“I’m not delusional, baby,” she says, running her hands up my chest.

I shove her away, and she stumbles. “Touch me again, and it’ll be the last thing you ever do.”

“But Spike. We’re meant to be together. I gave birth to your son. You can’t walk away from us.”

“You didn’t give birth to him. You cut him out of his mother’s stomach and stole him.” Unable to stop myself, I slap her across the face. “You almost killed Ivory! You could’ve killed my son!”

Glitter’s eyes narrow. “Almost?” She shakes her head. “No. She was dead. I know she was.”

“No, she wasn’t. I found her just in time,” I tell her, enjoying the surprise in her eyes. “She’s alive, and so is my son. The three of us are going to be a family. All you’re gonna be is fucking dead, you crazy bitch.”

“No. No.” Glitter presses her hands to her ears as if to block out my words. “It’s me and you against the world, Spike. Me, you, andourson.”

“It’s you against Saints Purgatory,” Soul snarls. “You against the club and one pissed-off mama.”

“Hey, Spike!”

I twist to see Abyss walking toward me with my son in his arms. “Is he okay?”

He places the newborn in my arms and nods. “Yeah. He’s underweight and should be in the NICU, and he does need to get to the hospital and have that surgery, but he’ll be okay.”

Relief washes over me, and I place a kiss on my son’s soft head. “Did ya hear that, little man? You’re gonna be okay.”

“You and Abyss get that boy to the hospital and his mama,” Soul instructs. “We’ll take care of Glitter.”
