Pressing a hand against my stomach, squeezing back the nervous butterflies, and making sure the recorder wouldn’t fall out, I got out of the car.
With a cake in my hand and a fake smile to follow, Harry opened the door with his anomalous grin. “Welcome to our humble abode, Adelaide.”
It was show time.
“Thank you for having me,” I handed him the cake with another cheeky simper of my own. “I’m looking forward to tonight.”
“As am I,” he slithered a slimy kiss to my cheek.
Stomaching the nausea, I looked around. This is where they brought all the young girls—taking advantage of them. Their cries stained the white walls. There were no decorations like they didn’t spend much time in here other than what they planned to do. A large TV mounted against thewall opposite to an oversized L-couch where the rest of the members sat—aloof and nonchalant.
Todd, Lewis, Landon, and Albert.
They thought I was their next plaything. I’d cut their balls off if they came within a centimetre of my space.
Their gazes fluttered down my body with malicious undertones.
It was Todd and Harry’s father who took advantage of Eunbin.
Nails dug into my palm.
They’d start with small conversation, gaslight me into behaving a certain way for them, try to touch me. Any indication that they’d touch me, and I’d press the button.
This will pass and I’ll be okay.
“I have to say,” Albert chewed on a piece of meat from the assortment of food on the beige coffee table. “We’re surprised you agreed to come.”
“Why wouldn’t I have accepted an offer to party?”
“Because you’re uptight?” Landon snickered. “Andmute.”
“Yes,” Todd pitched. “It’s a little unusual.”
Skeptical, like I’d expected.
Harry squeezed my shoulders from behind. His fingers massaging the blades. “Adelaide and I have an… understanding. Don’t we, darling?”
Hell no.
“Yes,” I leaned back into him. “We do.”
“In honour of today,” he ran a hand down from the nape of my neck to the base of my back. “I have a gift for our special gift.”
Furrowing my brows, I turned into the direction where everyone stared, and my heart dropped.
Arms covering his naked chest, Arun Klahan stood behind Harry.
No.
It’s supposed to be me, not Arun.
Harry noticed my panic state. “Your dear husband didn’t predict this, did he?”
Dandruff-like dryness nipped the flakes at my throat. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Please,” he humorlessly laughed. “As if I didn’t know why Christian married you and came after us.”
“You must be here for this,” Lewis threw a folder onto the table.
