"Hey. I didn't know you were coming over here."
Hov put one arm around my waist and sat his hand on the right side of my thigh. Snatching me up close to his body was obviously his love language. I loved that shit right back, to be honest.
"Tell me why every time I see you, a nigga nearby? You want me in prison?"
"No. Of course not. We ran into each other, and he was asking for my number."
Hov's eyes instantly went over to Ant who'd almost made it to our building door.
"You give it to him?"
"No, of course not."
"Alright, so where you heading to?"
"We were going to get something to eat when Pernelle's brother ran up to us, saying he was getting chased by some dudes for his bike."
"Oh, Aye!”
He called out to Princeton.
"Everything good, little homie?"
"Yeah."
Princeston cleared his throat, intimidated talking to someone like Hov. That's when he and Pernelle approached us, who were hugging up in the courtyard, like Kairo couldn't pop up at any moment and start some shit. I honestly don't care right now, though. Hov made me feel safe, and I know he's not going to let Kairo fuck with me right now.
"It sounds to me like if niggas running around on that type of time today, then you need to get your pretty ass in the house."
"I will be after I get breakfast, I'm starving."
"Then come with me. I can take you to get a meal."
"Really? But my friend was getting food too, and I don't want to abandon her and make her go by herself.
"She can roll with us, too, if she wants."
"I'm down."
Pernelle spoke up quickly, as if it were an offer to Disneyland.
"Princeton, do you want to go with us too?"
"Nah, I'm good. Just going to go upstairs and get on my game."
"But do not leave that apartment for the rest of the day. Mama will be back from the salon in a couple of hours. If them niggas were after you in broad daylight, then they damn sure will do it later."
Pernelle shook the top of his head. Hov then added,
"She right. It's best you stay inside, lil man. I'll look into who's running around the block doing this type of shit and get back with your sister about it. If I find them, know it's handled."
"Alright, thanks, Hov. See y'all later."
Princeton took off on his bike towards their apartment building.
When we got to Hov's Bentley, he opened the door for me and then Pernelle's before walking around to the other side. This passenger princess shit is my all time favorite moments with him so far. Well, that was closely behind the moments I shared in his arms at the gun range the other day. I can't wait to feel that level of intimacy with him again.
"So where are you taking us, Hov?"
