Fuck.

Again, I’m thrown between her legs. I change tactics, swirling my tongue over her quickly, hoping she’ll come before they realize what’s happening. But they catch on to what I’m doing, and I’m ripped away.

Over.

And over.

And over.

Tears begin down her cheeks in a single streak. It’s the only sign of the pain she’s in, the frustration that will never end. How much longer can she endure? How is this going to end?

I grind my teeth together—with me. It ends with me.

Her tears undo me.

I’m lowered, but this time I break free and grip onto her thighs. I nip at her clit, knowing the intensity will be enough to undo her.

“Hayes!” she screams, arching into me.

I hold onto her as long as I can, until I’ve milked all of her orgasm from her body, and I feel her body relax beneath me—the tears slowing.

When I’m pulled back, I twist out of the hold again. I throw a punch and sweep for the gun on the waist of one of my enforcers.

When I aim the gun, it’s at Peter.

His eyes flash wide for a single second, before regaining his composure.

“Get Gage in here,” I say. He’s the only one I trust.

“You disappoint me, Hayes.”

“I don’t care what you think of me, Peter. If you don’t want to die, get Gage in here, now.”

Peter nods to one of his men.

A few seconds later, Gage walks in. He quickly assesses the situation with a dark glare.

“Lilith leaves with Gage, and I’ll let you live.”

Peter nods to Gage. Gage walks over to the bed, and Lilith is released. He scoops her up effortlessly in his arms, cradling her so her naked body is as protected as it can be. Then he carries her out of the room.

“No, wait, what about Hayes?” Lilith asks in a panicked voice.

“I’ve got you. Let Hayes worry about Hayes,” I hear Gage say, nearly out of the room.

Lilith doesn’t accept that. She tries to break free of Gage’s arms, and she almost gets free.

“I’m right behind you. Trust me,” I say, looking at her with a calmness I only feel when I’m with her.

She accepts my words, and then Gage carries her out even though he knows my words are a lie. There is no way I’m walking out of here after her. Gage is only allowed to carry her out because of Titus.

Titus is the only one that can save either of us now, and I’m still not sure I can trust him.

The second she’s gone, I lower my gun, knowing I’ve lost. But Lilith’s safe.

“That was foolish, boy. And now you’ll pay—for everything,” Peter says.
