“Good choice, Prez.”Blade says, walking over after hitting the button to lower him down.

Grabbing him off the hook, he takes him to a chair we have close by. After Blade pushes him into the chair, Shadow walks over and ties him to it by wrapping rope around his torso and then doing the same with his legs. He leaves his arms free, as I need them. Blade then grabs one of Thing Two's arms, holding it out for me. I don’t even think about it; I just walk over and let my mallet fly. One, two, and crack.

"Please,”Thing Two begs.“Stop”

Nope. I nod to Shadow, who straightens his other arm. Without a second thought, I bring the mallet down on his elbow using all the strength I can, and we immediately hear the crack. One shot and done—that was a good one. When I look at Thing Two,I see he has tears and snot running down his face, but he’s still conscious. That's too bad for him; it means I get to inflict even more damage on him.

Walking back over to my table and placing the mallet down, I look at what I can use next. There are so many choices. Eyeing the blowtorch, I smile. Yeah, that’s my next one. In honor of Flame, how poetic. Picking it up, I walk back towards Thing Two and see that his arms are still loose because they're absolutely useless now. He won’t do any damage to us with them, even with them free.

“Get his shirt off,”I say, but I don’t specify who I want to do it. I don't care; I just want his skin. I want this to hurt as much as possible.

Blade quickly grabs his knife that’s sheathed to his lower back, cutting away the top Thing Two is wearing. I flick the blowtorch on and smile at Thing Two. He looks absolutely petrified.

“Now this may hurt a bit, but I thought the flame would be fitting after all the damage you caused to MY FLAME!”I roar the last part in his face and then hold the torch to his peck, just above his nipple, and immediately the whole room smells of burning flesh.

Suddenly, I can hear retching behind me in the direction of the cells. I glance over my shoulder and see Spot being sick. Oh dear, it looks like someone has a weak stomach. Turning back around, I drag the blow torch down Thing Two's chest. When I reach his stomach, he passes out. I stop then; there's no point in inflicting damage while he’s unconscious. I want him to feel every ounce of pain.

Walking back to the table, I place the blowtorch down, and look around at the damage I’ve caused. Both Thing One and Two are an absolute mess. Blood, cuts, burns, and broken bones, and I’ve hardly even started. They’re in for so much more. Quickly checking the clock, I realize we’ve been at this for overan hour. Time for a break and to go and see Flame. I don't like being away from him yet, not when I just got him back. Looking down at my clothes, I know I can’t leave until I've cleaned up a little; I'm covered in blood.

With that in mind, I make my way into the clean-up room and strip naked before jumping in the shower, scrubbing myself quickly to make sure I rid myself of all the blood. Once I'm clean, I grab a pair of spare clothes we keep in the locker here for moments just like this. I walk back out into the main room, where the prisoners are.

“I’m going to go check on Flame. Get someone down here to watch these two. I know they’re not going anywhere, but I want them watched. I don’t want them dying on me before I’m finished with them.”I inform them both before leaving.

When I walk back into the infirmary, I notice that Cam is no longer here, and Doc's over by Flame checking him over.

“What’s the verdict, Doc?”I ask as I make my way closer.

“He’s doing good, Prez. You can take him home if you want, but he needs to take it easy and rest while his body heals. I’ll give you some painkillers to take with you. He’s going to need them.”Doc explains to me, and I can’t help but smile at Flame.

He doesn't look happy; he hates doing nothing, and he’s now under doctor's orders to do just that. He's not going to be a good patient at all.

“Come on, babe, it’s not that bad; you can spend time with Cam and just chill out and recover,”I say with a small laugh.

Flame just gives me a dirty look, obviously not impressed at all. I get it. I'd hate to have to sit around and do nothing too.

“Anyone thought to bring me clothes? And it’s an issue because I won’t be able to do the hand-to-hand training we had planned for the Prospects. I was looking forward to that.”

"They’re in the cupboard next to your bed, like I'd risk you walking around in that gown. What's under there is for myeyes only. You’ll just have to do the training when you feel better. The Prospects will still be here once you’ve recovered. I'm sure they'll be grateful they get to wait a little bit longer before training with you.”I tell him with a smug look.

"Well, fuck off then, Doc; you’ve seen enough of me already; you don't need to see any more. Wrath can help me if I need it,”he tells Doc.

Doc just laughs, shakes his head, and goes into his office. Yeah, I'm glad he's gone. I don't want him to see more of Flame than he already has.

“Come on then, up you get,”I tell him as I grab his clothes for him.

It takes some effort and help from me, but he manages to get dressed in a pair of gray sweats and a baggy black t-shirt before he slowly stands. He takes a deep breath and then starts to gingerly walk out. It’s clear he's in pain, but he’s going to get out of here under his own steam. Stubborn fucker. I follow behind, and once we're in the hallway, I ask,"Home, or are you going to be a stubborn fucker and decide you want to hang out around here?”

"Home, please, babe.”He replies clearly, deciding that staying here isn't worth the added pain right now. I guide him outside, where the SUVs are parked, and help him into the closest one. There's no way he'll be riding his bike for a while. He's definitely not going to like that when he realizes.

I run around and jump in the driver's side. I’m happy to see the keys are already in the ignition. I start it up, quickly driving us home. It'll be nice to be back in our house. I haven't actually been in the house since I found out Flame had been taken; I couldn't face our house without him in it, and I certainly had no plans to stay in our bed without him.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Flame

Entering our house after finally being allowed to come home, I release a breath I didn’t realize I'd been holding. I’m so glad to be back here. Part of me I didn’t want to acknowledge at the time was worried I’d never see this place again. I’d never see the people I love most in this world. I was worried I’d end up dead before I could make it home due to the damage Thing One and Two were inflicting on my body. I make my way to the sofa, slowly sitting down before patting the cushion next to me for Wrath to sit. I just want some time with him after everything.

He comes over and sits with me, but he doesn’t speak. I know he spent time with Thing One and Two, but he hasn't told me what he did to them, and he doesn’t seem to want to yet, which is fine; he'll tell me everything in his own time.
