"Yeah, there's no denying he's mine. Well, I suppose he could be mistaken for Shadow's. Come on in here, Cam. I promise these idiots are all safe, despite looking scary. These are some of theOfficers of the MC, and you can trust every one of them; they’d never do anything to hurt you.”

Cam slowly walks in the room and takes the empty seat next to me.

“Obviously, you know your Uncle Shadow; he's my VP. Then you've got Blade next to him, who's an Enforcer like your Papa. On the other couch is Eagle, my SAA. The one covered in tattoos is Ink, my Secretary, and lastly, that leaves Rock, the massive one over there, who's my Treasurer. The only other person missing who you haven't met yet is Piston; he's my Road Captain.” I introduce everyone, and they all wave as I say who they are.

“Nice to meet you all.”Cam says quietly.

The guys start asking him random questions to try and make him feel more settled, and I can't help but smile. They may look rough and tough, but they all have massive hearts. Cam soon starts to come out of his shell as he speaks with them, and I'm relieved. I want him to be himself and not afraid. This is his home now, and this is his family.

Chapter Fifteen

Cam

After coming face-to-face with Snake, I'll admit I was shaken up. It's like I was thrown back in time to my life with Mom. I feel a lot better after talking to Dad and Papa, though. They clearly had no idea about his connection to my mom. Hopefully I don't have to face anyone else from my past while I'm here, but if I do, I'll handle it better than earlier. After seeing how my Dad and Papa reacted, I know they'll do anything to keep me safe and protected.

I was a little worried when I saw all the massive men in the room with Dad, but after spending a few minutes around them, I realized my Dad was right. They may look scary, but they're not. They all have massive hearts. I feel much better surrounded by them all.

"So, Cam, do you like your new room?”My Uncle Shadow asks.

"Yeah,I can't believe how big it is or the fact that I've got an actual bed. I didn't have that with mom.”

I hear growls and flick my eyes around the room to see all of them don't look happy by what I've said. I know deep downthey're not angry at me, though. No, they're angry at what I've told them,

“What do you mean, Cam?”This time, it's Ink that speaks.

He seems cool. I really want to take a closer look at all his tattoos at some point. He's covered in them.

“Oh. I didn't have an actual bed at my mom's house. Just a mattress on the floor with a blanket in a small closet.”

My Dad stands and walks out of the room.

I look around, confused. Why's he left? The guys must see my confusion about him leaving because Eagle comes and sits next to me before speaking.

“He doesn't want to scare you, Cam. He's angry after learning more about how badly your mom treated you. Your Dad's extremely protective when it comes to family. It's how he got Wrath as his road name. He's left to calm himself down. Don't worry.”

“Oh. That makes sense, but even if he got angry in front of me, I know he'd never hurt me. You've all already proven how different you are to my mom.”

“We're glad you know that, Cam. We'd all do anything to protect you.”

I can't help but smile at that. It's nice to have people who finally care about me. I think I'm going to like this new life I have.

We all carry on talking about random things after the bomb I dropped. After a few minutes, my Dad comes back and sits where Eagle was previously sitting.

“Sorry about that.”He starts to apologize.

“No Dad. It's okay. They all explained why you left. You don't need to apologize; I understand.”

“I'm so lucky to have a son like you.”

I can't help the massive smile that overtakes my face at his words. He might think he's lucky to have a son like me, but I think I'm lucky to have a Dad like him.

After everyone leaves to go back to their jobs, Dad takes me to The Clubhouse with him, as he has work he needs to do too. I'm sort of intrigued to see what he does as President. I'm guessing it takes a lot of hard work and time. I know he has all his Officers to help him run the club, but I have a feeling he still does a lot of it himself. He just seems like that sort of person.

I can't wait to learn everything I can about Devil's Inferno and get to know everyone. The people I've met so far have all been amazing. I'm sure all the other members are just as great. Plus, I'm hoping one day I get to follow in my family's footsteps and become a member.
