Quickly clicking on his number, I wait to see if he answers. I hope this is the right choice.

“Hello, Detective Stevens speaking, how may I help you?”

“Hello Detective, it's Wrath, President of Devil's Inferno MC. I'm wondering if you could help with a problem we've had this afternoon.”

“Ah, Wrath, it's been a while; what's the problem?”

“We were attacked at The Compound; fifteen armed men stormed our home. The problem we have is that one of the men is your Police Chief and he certainly wasn't here on official business.”

“Fuck, I'm on my way; just between us, he's a dirty fucker. We've been trying to prove it for a while now. It looks like you may have just handed us what we needed. I should be there in about ten minutes. Do you need emergency services as well?”

“It might be best to send some; I'm currently unsure of how many are dead or injured out there. I do know for a fact that the Police Chief is alive but wounded, and I have at least one wounded man.”

“Okay, I'll dispatch units; we should all arrive at the same time. See you shortly.”

Hanging up, I take a seat next to Tech and just take a minute to gather my thoughts. So much has happened in such a short period.

“Okay, Detective Stevens is on his way; let's get out there and see what the damage is.”

I stand, making my way to check on everyone. God, I never thought something like this would happen to us in our own home since we've been legit since I was young. Being attacked like this is something my Dad always worried about and was one of the main reasons he wanted to go legit.

Walking into The Common Room, I notice four bodies. The dead shooters, but they aren't my concern right now. We were well within our rights to kill them, and I'm sure Detective Stevens will agree with me there. Rock's standing next to the Police Chief, who’s tied up. It looks like someone did a quick patch-up job on him; he has bandages over both shoulders.

Looking around, I see Joker standing over Whiskey, helping bandage his left arm; Wreck's standing, talking to my Dad and Cam, who all look unharmed, thankfully. What catches my eye is Flash; he's kneeling over a body that's prone on the floor.

Rushing towards him, I see he's got a cloth held to someone's stomach. Flash's body's blocking the face of whoever he's trying to help. As I reach them, I get a look at who he's trying to save and realize it's Jake.

“Prez, he needs help. The bleeding isn't slowing at all.”He tells me, sounding worried.

“WHERE'S DOC?!”I shout as loud as I can into the room.

He’s the only one here who's even remotely capable of saving the Prospect at my feet.

“I'm here, Prez; I had to go and get my kit from the infirmary.”He explains as he rushes across the room towards us.

Dropping down next to us, he starts examining Jake.

“Flash, I'm going to need you to move the cloth so I can see what I'm working with,”Doc tells him gently.

“It's a gut shot. He stepped in front of a bullet meant for me. I didn't see it coming until it was too late. You gotta save him, Doc.”

Poor Flash has tears running down his face, begging Doc to save Jake. What Jake did has obviously affected him.

“I’ll do my best; now move out of the way with Prez, please Flash.”He gently instructs.

Grabbing Flash’s shoulder, I squeeze it as he comes to stand next to me.

“He’ll be okay,”I tell Flash.

God, I hope I'm right.

As Doc’s working on stabilizing Jake, I hear the sirens grow close. It looks like the police have arrived, and hopefully with the help Jake needs too. There’s only so much Doc can do here, and I think Jake's going to need more help than Doc can provide. He’s lost a hell of a lot of blood. The floor around him is covered in it, as are Flash's arms, hands, and clothing.

“Wrath!”I hear Detective Stevens call my name from near the front entrance.

“Back here, bring a medic with you!”I shout back, hearing footsteps running towards me.

The medic drops himself down by Doc, and they start talking in hushed tones. I focus on the detective, who's just stopped next to me. There’s nothing I can do for Jake; that's in the hands of the medics and Doc.
