Everything looks so nice and safe. It’s a good neighborhood. I doubt anything bad ever happens here. It’s a wonder they allow someone like Alessandro to live so close to them.
But they probably don’t know what he really is. No one does.
His handsome face can fool anyone into thinking he’s an angel, but he’s the devil in disguise. The darkness that lurks in his eyes terrifies me, even if I don’t want to admit it.
But for now, I’m free, even if it’s just for a few moments.
Eventually, I’ll have to go back to that house.
Back to him.
I’ve never been out like this before, without any guards or someone watching over me.
It’s exhilarating.
I’ll enjoy my freedom, like I’ve never enjoyed it before, while it lasts, and I’ll think about the rest later.
Chapter 14
IBLINK AT THE SCREENof my laptop, but all I can think about is Sienna. Not knowing what she’s thinking or doing drives me crazy.
I want to resist taking a look. But I give in, because why not?
When I click on the camera feed from her room, all I can see is a black screen. What the fuck? I check the camera again, but it says it’s been disconnected.
How?
I find the last bit of footage it recorded. Sienna’s beautiful face is on the camera as she glares at it. Then she picks up a chair and smashes it against the camera.
My eyebrows rise up.
She’s like a wildfire.
Unstoppable.
Destructive.
