“Okay.”I blink rapidly to keep myself from crying. I don’t know why I’m so emotional all of a sudden. Probably because that climax turned my brain to mush, and it’s struggling to contain all the emotions. “We need to shower. And I need to pee.”

Asher looks down at me, eyebrows raised. “The reality of living together, eh?”

I pinch his side, then push myself up. “Yep. You can join me for the showerafterI flush, not before.”

He grins. “Setting the rules is important, right?”

“Are we living together now?” I grab a pair of fresh panties from my overnight bag and saunter toward the bathroom. “I thought I was only staying here until my house is repaired.”

Asher lunges for me with a growl, and I dance back, shrieking in delight. He misses by an inch, and I scurry over to the bathroom, shutting myself inside.

Then I crack the door open and peer through it, meeting his golden gaze. “I’ll move the rest of my stuff after the full moon, okay? I don’t think we’ll have the time before that.”

He nods, satisfied, and lies back on the bed, one hand tucked behind his head. “I’ll help. I want you here.”

My heart melts, and I catch myself humming happily as I use the bathroom and wash my hands. I expect Asher to join me for the shower, but he doesn’t come in. I wash for the second time, swiping the drying trails of his cum from between my legs. Myclit pulses. I run my fingers over myself and shiver at the thought of going another round if I’m this sensitive.

But when I towel off and open the door, I find Asher asleep on the bed, still in the exact same position as before. I grin, then flick off the lights to let him rest. Not wanting to wake him, I grab a fresh t-shirt from a stack of folded laundry he hasn’t put away yet and walk into the hallway as I put it on. I check the doors and windows to see if they’re locked, plug in Asher’s phone in the kitchen, and bring mine back to the bedroom so we’ll have an alarm.

Finally, I crawl into bed beside him and toss the covers over his big body, then snuggle in, as close as I can without waking him.

But I shouldn’t have worried. Asher rolls to his side and tucks me close, my ass to his groin. He spoons me from behind, his breath hot on the back of my neck.

All the remaining tension seeps out of me, and I clasp his hand, holding on.

Perfect.

Chapter

Twenty-Four

ASHER

I wake to the shrill tones of an unfamiliar alarm. Something warm stirs in front of me, and it takes me a few moments to realize it’s June, reaching for her phone. She smells like me, which feels weird until I pry my eyes open and find her sitting up, wearing my t-shirt.

I frown at her, confused. “What time is it?”

“Six thirty p.m.” She puts the phone away and lies on her side, facing me. “My shift starts at seven-thirty.”

Dragging a hand over my face, I think back on everything that happened before we fell asleep. “Wait. Did I—? You went to shower, and I…”

“Yep.” June grins at me. “You fell asleep while I was in the bathroom. Don’t worry, I checked the locks. We’re safe.”

I bury my head under the pillow. “Gods, I’m sorry. We fucked for the first time, and I fell asleep. I can’t believe it.”

She yanks on the pillow and wins the tug-of-war after a few seconds. She’s freakishly alert considering she just woke up, and I don’t have the strength to resist her.

“Don’t you dare feel bad about this,” she admonishes, frowning down at me. “Last night was amazing. You were exhausted, so you fell asleep, that’s it.”

I can’t help but grin at her bossiness. “Yes, ma’am.”

She shivers lightly at this, her nipples pebbling under my t-shirt. “I don’t hate it when you call me that.”

“Nice.” I roll over her and kiss her, loving how soft and pliant she is underneath me.

But the phone alarm blares again, pulling us from the kiss.

“I can’t be late,” she murmurs. “I barely made it on time yesterday.”
